You evidently didn’t read the post properly because I didn’t mention anything about Australia.

So? I'm pointing out Thailand does internet better, another item to love.

  1. A 60-year man can get a model looking 19-year young girl for 2K-3K in local currency.
  2. Can impregnate a model looking 19-year young girl easily by a 60-year old man.
  3. A 60-year old man can easily feel the silk smooth skin of a model looking young girl in her birthday suit all night for a few hundred dollars.
  4. Walk into most bars and pick up a girl to do everything one can do in a brothel or for an additional 200 baht in a nearby room.
  5. Can watch old ugly men wandering from brothels (aka bars) to brothels (aka brothels) in songthaew and passing sexual innuendo to local girls that they won't dare to do in a London bus.

At least you are honest, but this list makes you sound like a creepy perverted old sexual predator.

Living 5 minutes away from a lovely beach with body-temperature sea.

Cheap domestic flights to anywhere in Thailand (or SE Asia).

Affordable tuition for my son (music, Taekwondo, other sports).

Loads of great restaurants and food outlets.

Tons of eye-candy everywhere. ????

So, because the topic is about Thailand and I clearly pointed out that fast internet was available in some other countries, not just in Thailand.

I get that some people have the "creepy" idea because they find it unpleasant to see an ugly/old man express sexual desire for a young woman, but where does the perverted or sexual predator bit come from?

But does that mean that you would have to be a fool to obey the law, or that only wise men are qualified not to?

You are free to interpret it in anyway you wish.

It is a bit like the Chinese:- Only a fool would tell the truth.

Here's mine:

1/ Renting a condo or a house for less than a quarter what it would cost me in Australia.

2/ The freedom to hop on a scooter and go shopping, or just for a cruise. Relaxed road laws, traffic fines won't break the bank.

3/ Having a girlfriend 23 years younger than me, who thinks the sun shines from my posterior.

4/ Enjoying all the permutations and combinations of the multiple cuisines available here, inexpensively.

5/ Knowing I won't be shoved into an aged care facility, and fed food that would make a dog puke.

Bonus - Seeing a specialist without BS referrals, and getting replacement medications at pharmacies without BS prescriptions.

All money related ????

It's quite interesting that "5 things you love" is a lot less popular than "5 things you hate".

If anyone is curious, there's actually an evolutionary reason for this "negativity bias".

Quote

Where Negative Bias Comes From

Our tendency to pay more attention to bad things and overlook good things is likely a result of evolution. Earlier in human history, paying attention to bad, dangerous, and negative threats in the world was literally a matter of life and death. Those who were more attuned to danger and who paid more attention to the bad things around them were more likely to survive.

This meant they were also more likely to hand down the genes that made them more attentive to danger.

Why post something without a clear meaning?  What point were you making?

Not everything in life has to be explained or dumbed down.

What I love about Thailand is that it is predominantly Buddhist. No explanation of Buddhist philosophy is given, it is up to the individual to decide for themselves.

I like it being warm all the time, the UK was always wet and cold.

It’s not really warm, it’s humid, sweaty and hot. ????????‍♂️

Warm would be like Tahiti or Hawaii.

1.  Friendly, cheerful, amenable local Thai people.

2.  Low cost of living allowing a higher standard of living than back home.

3.  The fact that in most of the country it never gets cold.

4.  The opportunity to meet a lady for a lifelong partnership who truly embraces her femininity.

5.  Outstanding food and the varied and increasingly sophisticated dining scene, not just Thai food but also international food.

Does this mean the older man may have sexual desire for a young woman, but he is unable to express them.????

OK.  So you weren't making a point, you were just posting an ambiguous quote without explanation in direct reply to someone else.

You're free to do that, of course, but it reduces your contribution to the discussion considerably.

"Your post was unclear, what do you mean?"

"I don't know."

"OK."  ????‍♂️

That would depend on the man.  I'm sure most older men find much younger women attractive (e.g. a 60 year old guy who encounters an attractive 20 year old).  I can't see any reason why not.  They likely feel the need to pretend they don't though.

There is also the age factor, ASEAN seems to have more than its fair share of old and embittered posters.

I remember a line from one of Arthur C Clarke's novels, where he stated the old are often insanely jealous of the young.

I sense you looking for an argument rather than a discussion. Like all philosophical quotations, biblical parables et al it is up to the individual, if intelligent enough, to make up their own interpretation. I'll add you to my list.

Not looking for any argument.  It's simply that you responded to someone's comment that people should obey the law with an ambiguous quote.  Obviously you meant that quote to make some sort of point, as you chose it as a reply, but the point is unclear.

As I pointed out, the quote could mean that you have to be stupid to obey the law, or only stupid people have to obey the law.  Which interpretation you wanted to use obviously changes the meaning of your response.

As I said, if you want your reply to remain ambiguous, that's fine, up to you, but it takes a lot of meaning away from your comment and limits its contribution to the discussion.

No one can really formulate a response to your comment if it is ambiguous.  ????‍♂️

All the things in the OP are available in the West, including women if you pay them to touch you like you do here.

If you come to Thailand for the reasons in the OP you truly failed in life. Including the condo and house rental where you can't swing a cat, where you get free cocroaches and snakes included in your rent and to get anything close to Western kitchen you would have to rent in Ritz Carlton residences or Shangri-La paying 200k a month.

Living a fake life in Thailand fooling your mates like you're livin' the dream where your next serious illness will be sponsored by gofundme to beg money from people, so you can go back to the country you hate so much to get free healthcare on other people's tax dime.

It depends on which culture you are in. Plenty of older Thai businessmen and people in power have mia nois and sideline girls.

Western culture frowns on big age gaps, driven by Western women.

and the Judeo Christian value system that built a lot of the west.

What nonsense.

You mean cheaper.

My condo in Toronto and every condo is set up with 1Gbps internet. Most of brand new soon to be decrepit condos due to poor maitenance  in Bangkok are limited to 50Mbps.

1. Safety walking the streets (having lived in London 10 years prior, I have never felt safer than now).

2. The good nature of most Thai people (even the tough looking guys tend to be nice once approached as long as you're not challenging them).

3. Affordability (a meal for the equivalent of a pound, a hotel room for 20, general accommodation prices and Fuel tax is also very low in comparison to my home country).

4. Lax enforcement of some laws (I feel the west overpolice things).

5. The nature (being a Yorkshire man this is important to me. I love the variety of landscapes, and the range of wildlife you see. And then there's the rain, I love sitting out, undercover of course, watching in awe of it's intensity.)
