Can anyone recommend a good Instant water heater not too power consuming can take pressurised water for good flow on shower and taps in bathroom ???

SIEMENS make a good range. Some with power selector for when using with bath or just basins.

Available in home pro

Considering where we live have you thought about solar heating ?

If you want to stay longer and you want to help to reduce carbon based energy consumption you better buy a solar water heater for 15.000 Bahts than a electric heater for 4.000 B plus grid power.

There are so many good Japanese brands to choose from, your really in good shape with most costing over 5k baht. However, make sure the one you choose has a temperature control knob on the outside and front where you can reach it, assuming you are going to mount it in the shower.

I have two Seimens, automatic temperature control, 9k five years ago and they have been a problem for years due to their requirement for a very high water flow requirement and termperature controlling shower valves. If you didn't have your plumber install the right water mixing valves, Seimens won't work right.

As an example, it is necessary for me to turn on the bathroom sink full hot so the shower will work properly, as the Seimens delivers too much hot water and requires quite a strong pressure to activate it. No pump, no pressure to make heater work.

Normally it is not a problem to upgrade a solar water heater unit. The electric heater can be integrated for backup if there is not enough hot water. Think about it! You will save money in the long term.

Electric heater? We (2 ad + 3 kids) are using a cheap "National" heater since 6 years, never any problems.

Well I intended also to have a large solar water heater however my problem was I couldn't buy one here in Lao and bringing it over the border on the back of the pickup we'd of probably ended up paying about half again in tax.

So after abondoning that idea I plunked for a Stiebel Electron 100ltr water heater. I've got say it is excellent. Has low power draw i.e. 2200w and keeps the water at the temperature for at least 12hours. One time we have no electric for 2 days and on the second day I still got some warm water (albeit not for long!).

We've got it being fed by a Grundfos MQ3-45 pump and get hot water at 60psi throughout the house - excellent stuff - can have proper mixer shower fitments not these instant water heaters. In our main bathroom I got one of those large fixed head showers with a smaller head on a flex pipe attached . . . brilliant way wake you up in the morning!

Solar water heater are tax free. I am just trying to import some of them from Laos to Samui.

How much was your Stiebel Eltron 2200 W? Is the tank inside or outside of the house?

Thank you for information!
