Popular Post webfact Posted August 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 9, 2023 Civil disobedience has been at the heart of many successful socio-political movements throughout history. At its core, this tactic seeks not only to challenge oppressive systems but to garner public sympathy and support. The recent protest by Thaluwang in front of Bhumjai Thai Party shows that the optics and perception of a movement can be as critical as its message. Acts of violence or aggression, even if unintentional, can taint an entire movement, costing it its moral high ground. Activists from Thaluwang blocked the Bhumjaithai Party's convoy from leaving the Pheu Thai's headquarters.#Thailand #เพื่อไทย #ก้าวไกล #ภูมิใจไทย #จัดตั้งรัฐบาล #จัดตั้งรัฐบาล2566 pic.twitter.com/KLMTMFoUhq — Thai Enquirer (@ThaiEnquirer) August 7, 2023 One only has to look at the most successful instances of civil disobedience campaigns to see how messaging was as important as the message. by Arun Saronchai Full story: https://www.thaienquirer.com/50405/opinion-it-is-time-for-some-youth-protesters-to-show-more-maturity/ -- © Copyright Thai Enquirer 2023-08-09 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post bob smith Posted August 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 9, 2023 I think it's time for the unelected senators to show more maturity, not the youth protestors. 11 7
Popular Post ikke1959 Posted August 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 9, 2023 This is Thailand. The old tell the young how to do to prevent that the old are affected by their actions..Same as last week that Pheu Thai will give protesters an area where they are allowed to protest, as otherise they disrupt the limosines. But meaning of protests is that they are being heard and seen to show that people don't agree. What results can you get if Pheu Thai don't have any problems of the protests?? Disrupt, disobedience, strikes are very good tools to push the elite to listen 4 2
sirineou Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Lots of noncancer. There is only one thing power understands. By the way , there is a concept used by many, I am personally aware of that. It is called agent provocateur. Google it.

Popular Post JimHuaHin Posted August 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 9, 2023 Many many decades ago, when I was a teenager at a Roman Catholic school, the Christian Brothers taught us that every person is deserving of respect. In senior high school, a youngish Catholic priest came to our religious knowledge class, and basically said the same thing. But, he added, respect must also be earned; those who do good for others and the community derserve a higher level of respect than those who harm others. Most of the youth protestors are showing their moral maturity over those political figures who are showing their selfish greed. 2 1
JimHuaHin Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 A nice opinion piece, but what reality is the author living in? The Thai people have peacefully voted for change - but the conservative establishment has ignored the voices of the majority of Thais. In recent years the youth of Thailand have protested peacefully (most groups most of the time) - only to have their families intimidated by the Thai conservative security forces (ISOC, etc.); their colleagues and friends imprisoned, and charged under Section 112 (even when protests were not directed at the monarchy). When people are suppressed too much, for too long, when their suffering increases daily, there are only two choices of action open to them - submit or .... 1 1
Popular Post BangkokReady Posted August 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 9, 2023 Translation: "Please don't use any civil disobedience in your civil disobedience." The whole article is a joke. Gandhi organised strikes and marches, and King's group held demonstrations and sit-ins. Both of these could be considered comparable to blocking a political party's office. 1 2

mania Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 This whole new reality in Thailand is just a regurgitated supposedly polite form of yet another coup/junta Face it Thailand with the 250 BS Coup/Junta placed senators you will never have a say in how your country is run This whole vote system was a farce from beginning to end, Sadly the young protestors know it & while they try to be polite themselves they know it will never work in their favor. As the Thai Rap against dictatorship song says " My Country Have" Turn on subtitles & see.....They know what is what
