232, still 19 shy of the 251 required to pass legislation.

Democrats, Prawit or Cobras

????????????

you don't need an absolute majority to pass legislation.
Simple majority is enough.
Members of parliament have three choices when voting: yes, no or abstention.

Am I reading this correctly.  Asking MF for their support and is then willing to apologise and ask for forgiveness?

BREAKING: Pheu Thai deputy leader Phumtham Wechayachai said Weds he wants to meet Move Forward leaders to ask for their support to vote for PT PM candidate Srettha & is willing to apologize & asks for forgiveness for the hard feelings caused by the breakup of coalition.

If they command less than half the votes and a motion of no confidence is moved?

Thai Sang Thai with 6 seats will get on board. Sudarat has been with TRT in those early years and also a cabinet minister.

The Pheu Thai-led coalition, which currently comprises 212 MPs from Pheu Thai (141 MPs) and the Bhumjaithai Party (71), has revealed the inclusion of six new coalition partners:

- Prachachart Party (9)

- Chart Pattana Kla Party (2)

- Pheu Tai Ruam Palang Party (2)

- Seri Ruam Thai Party (1)

- Palang Sangkhom Mai Party (1)

- The Party of Thai Counties (1)

Moreover, the Chart Thai Pattana Party (10) is expected to join the Pheu Thai-led coalition tomorrow.

This development is anticipated to raise the coalition's total number of MPs to 238, which would still fall 12 MPs short of a simple majority in the lower house (250).

Expecting few DP MPs to defect to Chart Pattana Kla under Korn. DP with no leader is rudderless.

Further:

Moreover, some MPs from other parties have expressed their intention to leave their parties and join the coalition.

He emphasized that the coalition currently possesses sufficient MPs to attain a simple majority of 250 MPs, but he refrained from disclosing the identities of the MPs from other parties who will join.

"In confidential discussions, we've already secured more than enough MPs," he stated.

Seems unlikely from their latest announcements unless Pheu Thai can come up a viable coalition that doesn't include Palang Pracharath.

The Pheu Thai party announced today (Wednesday) the union of eight parties to form a new government, which will, hopefully, put an end to the prolonged political divide in Thailand.

In addition to the two core parties, Pheu Thai and Bhumjaithai, the other parties agreeing to join the coalition are Prachachat, Thai Liberal, Chart Pattana Kla, Pheu Thai Rumphalang, Plung Sungkom Mai and Thongthee Thai.

In a statement issued today, Pheu Thai claimed that the coalition now commands more than half of the 500 seats in the House of Representatives, adding that they hope that it will be able to ease political tension and resolve political conflicts.

Thai Enquirer

Pheu Thai's negotiation team, accompanied by PM Candidate Paetongtarn Shinawatra, is en route to the Thai Summit Building to engage in discussions with the Move Forward Party.

Pheu Thai's primary objective is to secure the MFP's support in favor of their designated PM Candidate, Srettha Thavisin, for the upcoming PM voting.

MFP's deputy leader, Sirikanya Tansakun, mentioned on Monday that the MFP is considering voting for Srettha, albeit subject to specific conditions. Nonetheless, she refrained from disclosing these conditions at present.

Korn left politics more than a month ago, he is no longer the leader of Chart Pattana Kla.

Yes you are right. Korn quit the party. The party chairman Suwat Liptapalloh was among the small parties leaders when PTP announced their inclusion. Perhaps Korn's departure makes it easier for the coalition pathway,

Pheu Thai PM candidate, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, stated after a meeting with Move Forward Party (MFP) leader, Pita Limjaroenrat, that there has been no progress in the negotiations aimed at securing MFP's support for Srettha Thavisin.

She emphasized that the two parties are not in conflict and their discussions revolve around finding ways for the country to overcome the ongoing political deadlock.

It is sensible for MFP to hear their supporters feedback before making any commitment to support Sretha. I think the party will not issue any party resolution whether to support or not support and allow each MPs to made their own decision.

Thai Liberal party leader Sereepisuth Temeeyaves has urged voters to let go of the Pheu Thai party’s election campaign promise not to work with General Prayut Chan-o-cha of United Thai Nation party or General Prawit Wongsuwan of Palang Pracharath party, aka the “Two Uncles”, if they want a new government to be formed quickly.

Sensible with no choice other to refuse as MF Party. Also a measure of loyalty to ethics on which were elected. In total opposition can block much !

If you compare the tight control exercised in 'Western' democracies over party members of Parliament, it's hard to think that the Thai model - every man (and even an occasional woman) for himself according to short-term convenience - is a model to follow.

....and the most popular political is conveniently omitted.

Perfectly designed.

Nothing up their sleeves.

Same as it ever was.
