This move is expected to increase its coalition's strength by 14 seats. The party is ready to announce its collaboration with 5 political parties to form a government at the Parliament building, scheduled for 12:00 PM today. Five political parties include the Prachachart Party with 9 seats, the Seri Ruam Thai Party with 1 seat, the Peu Thai Ruamphalang with 2 seats, the Plung Sungkom Mai, and the Party of Thai Counties, each with 1 seat. This sums up to a total of 14 seats. In addition to the two core parties, Pheu Thai and Bhumjaithai, the other parties agreeing to join the coalition are Prachachat, Thai Liberal, Chart Pattana Kla, Pheu Thai Rumphalang, Plung Sungkom Mai and Thongthee Thai. Pheu Thai's primary objective is to secure the MFP's support in favor of their designated PM Candidate, Srettha Thavisin, for the upcoming PM voting. MFP's deputy leader, Sirikanya Tansakun, mentioned on Monday that the MFP is considering voting for Srettha, albeit subject to specific conditions. If you compare the tight control exercised in 'Western' democracies over party members of Parliament, it's hard to think that the Thai model - every man (and even an occasional woman) for himself according to short-term convenience - is a model to follow.
