I use Gmail for my smartphone, like getting emails. My Gmail is fine on my desktop and laptop.

Any idea why my emails arrive OK on them but have stopped arriving on my smartphone?

Desktops and laptops AFAIK don't have Airplane mode.

I suspect your phone have another 'battery drain' app, that put gmail to 'deep sleep', so you don't get any notifications.

Works fine on my phone.

'Notifications settings' is another one you should check. Can have been disabled or auto disabled.

Of couse they do. if you click on the wi-fi icon in bottom corner, along the bottom you should see Wi-Fi, Airplane Mode & Mobile Hotspot.

I have a 12 year old HP laptop that sometimes boots up into Airplane Mode, bit of a pain.

Seems like another go into settings thingy.

Make sure Google is set to WLAN & Cellular for starters....

Hmmm. I wonder why that is?

What makes it more strange is that my PC doesn't have a WiFi adapter - only ethernet.

Update: Am I correct that your device doesn't have a WiFi or Bluetooth adapter? I don't have a WiFi adapter and I discovered that if I remove my USB Bluetooth adapter, then the Flight Mode & mobile hotspot options do not appear.

My guess is because it's a Samsung, is a known issue for that brand. I experience it on both my S21+ and S22+ devices, no known fix.

If I'm not mistaken the OP just bought a new Sammy phone.

Bluetooth is connected via the interface with the host computer as is Wi-Fi
