Parking at Suvarnabhumi

Featured Replies

What are the options for parking a car for 10 days near or at Suvarnabhumi airport?

  • Popular Post

VIP lot direct access to the Terminal via a walkway 250 b a day.

Google told me that there is a long term parking at 140 baht per day.

Anyone who know if this parking is covered, secured, and how far from international departure and arrival terminal?

Yes that is what I found also, but if someone who is familiar with this long term parking, could tell me if it is under a roof, and some more info on the distance from the terminals and the frequency of the shuttle bus.

I one missed a flight in my home country, because the long term parking was many kilometres from the terminal, and shuttle bus only every 30 minutes

I need to park the car for 20 days.

A couple of years ago the operator at long-term parking  told me there is some kind of 1 month ticket, cost 1000b.

Anyone know about it?

Long term parking is per day only at 250b per day, right?

How do you pre-pay for this and also do you get a receipt (needed for a business claim).

Any update on this?  Is the Long-term parking still 140 baht a day?  How does one find it and how reliable and easy is the shuttle from the car park to the terminal?

Bump.

  • Does 'long term' parking have to be booked in advance, or do you just turn up?
  • Which long term car park do you use (there appear to be three)?
  • How frequent/easy is the shuttle/bus to the terminal once you've parked?

From my own research. I intend to park at car park zone 2 or 3 which is just across the terminal(less than 100m walk) All zone from 2-7 can park full day at 250b/per day. If i go away for more than 8 days, i think getting a taxi to and from airport is better cost wise. Assuming one is from Pattaya or nearer. I remember the last time i parked there, they issue a small hardly readable receipt. Best is to check with them.

Thanks. I've used the short-term parking many times, but this time I'll be away for longer, so I'm considering using the long-term parking which is 140 baht a day, instead of 250 baht.

The airport information makes no mention of whether you need to make a reservation or can just turn up, or how and when payment is made.  There is also little information about how to access the lots and whether they are related to the terminal you're flying from, the accessibility of the shuttle, how frequent it is, and how long to allow between parking and checking in.

Was hoping someone might use it regularly, but perhaps you're right and a taxi would be better!

How is it easy to find place available in the short term parking? I am traveling a lot for short trip domestically and international. My main concern is about the time to find a place to park.

for example, i am going to Phuket tomorrow evening, come back to bkk Sunday evening, then going to Philippines Monday afternoon and coming back to bkk Tuesday night.

i am doing such trip very often and bored using taxi.

I've always found one eventually but it can be frustrating especially as everyone double parks.  A lot depends on the time and whether it's a busy holiday period.

I've given up on the idea of long-term parking as no one seems to know anything about it.  Will take a taxi.

I tried anyway last night. It was ok but bit stressful indeed. I tried the parking zone 4 and it was very pack. Turn around 20 minutes but luckily found someone who was leaving. I was already considering what would happen if i missed my flight…

so i think, i will keep using the taxi as my schedule is always very tight.

OK here is the information you seek.

It's easy to find a parking space at one of the BKK short term car parks, much easier than Don Mueang. My preference is to enter the short term car parks at BKK (I think there are two opposite the terminal) from the 1st floor then immediately head to the second or third floor where there are more spaces. The other option is to enter the car parks from the 5th floor but if you do this you have to drive all through the 5th floor past many double parked cars (it can be tight) just to get to the ramp where you can down to the lower floors. I've never had a problem finding a space on floors 2,3,4. I usually go for floor 3. Floors 1 & 5 have the convenience of a walkway to the terminal. For the other floors you need to use the steps or lift to floor 1 or 5. You can park as long as you want but it's around 250THB a day.

Long term parking... I think as others have said it's around 140THB a day. There's a shuttle bus to and from the main terminal. When I used this option I took a Grab taxi from the car park to arrivals. It's about a 6 or 7 minute journey. On the way back I took the shuttle bus from just past where the taxis pick up passengers. There's a bus stop there. I had to wait at least 20 minutes maybe longer for the bus. The bus is free but you need to make sure you get the correct bus. The information is on the Airport website. Each parking space has a cover which offers some shade. There's plenty of space between cars so it's unlikely someone will 'door you'. After almost two weeks my car had a thick layer of dust all over it but you clean your windows and you're away. You just turn up and take a ticket. There's a person in the little kiosk. When you leave you can pay by QR or cash.

Coming back late on your feedback. I missed it. Thanks anyway.

So, since my initial post, I have a used a lot the carpark at Suvanarbhuni. I always enter from the 5th floor. I used to go only directly to the 6th floor where there was always a lot of availabilities. since the last 2 months, the 6th floor is closed as they are doing some renovations. So, I am going down to the 4th or the 3rd. So far, never had big issues to find available spaces.

Now, I need to use Don Muang airport. How difficult it is?

It can be a challenge to find a space in one of the parking garages right at terminals 1 and 2, but there is another parking garage past the two terminals. It is right by what used to be Terminal 3, which has been closed now for over a decade. There is a covered air-conditioned walkway that connects the old Terminal 3 to the current Terminal 2. I've not had difficulty finding a place at the old Terminal 3 parking garage, especially when I was willing to park on the roof.

Go early, and if you can't find a space by 1 or 2, go on to the abandoned Terminal 3 and park in the parking garage there and walk back to the other terminals using the walkway.

This is good advice... on the odd occasions I've been meeting friends off a plane at Don Muang, finding parking has been a nightmare.... Cars almost abandoned in very tight spots and every available spot of space everywhere...

Never had an issue parking at Suvarnabumi...  Don Muang is horrible.

I guess you are talking about Don Muang, right?

At Don Muang I used to stay at the Miracle Grand. They have a free airport shuttle and would let me leave the car parked at the hotel for a few weeks.

The covered "basement" parking can fill up fast but for me, about 10 years ago, it was super easy. The parking guy saw my Udon Thani plates and, being from Udon himself, whistled me into a parking area, right beside the entrance to the terminal, that's reserved for police cars and VIP's. I parked there several times when I flew home for the weekend, or out of the country on business.

YMMV
