A toddler isn't ripping the steering wheel out of a grown woman's grip from the backseat. I did not say that a toddler ripped the wheel out of a grown woman's grip. A toddler could easily turn a power-assisted steering wheel if the driver wasn't gripping it tightly. Spare me your pathetic (to use your word), fatuous false "quotes". 2

Go take a look at the video of the incident before posting your pathetic comments. It's a tiny 3-year-old. It wouldn't even reach the steering wheel unless it was standing right next to it.
transam Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 No doubt the kid was standing on the front seat with hands on the dash, then......................????...............????

Agreed.... Mother allowed the child to stand up in the front, the child grabbled the steering wheel. OR... the mother is outright lying. No point engaging LL... he'll find an argument in an empty room... If it wasn't specifically stated in the article it didn't happen in his mind... 2 3

And the 'up to' 2000 baht fine clearly means nothing... I actually doubt many are even aware of the updated rules of children traveling in vehicles as of 17th August this year. Has it even been in any of the Thai media, TV news etc ???? - Children under six or under 135cm must be placed in a car seat for children or a specialised seat (booster seat). Motorists who do not have a car seat are allowed to let children under six and under 135cm in their vehicle as long as three rules are followed: 1. Children must be placed in the back seat of vehicles with more than four seats, or in the front passenger seat of pickup trucks, but never in the truck’s bed. 2. Seat belts and harnesses must be fastened at the child’s waist. 3. Drivers must travel at slow speeds in the leftmost lane of all roads and highways. Allowing a Child to 'stand' in the front of a car... surely this degree of parental (supervisory) negligence is deserving of a penalty more significant fine than 2000 baht ?????? 1
