snoop1130
About 1,000 households in three communities in Bangkok have lodged complaints with the Thailand Consumer’s Council, claiming that their livelihoods are being threatened by the construction of three high-rise condominium projects, which may also be against the law. Officials from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and the council are scheduled to inspect the three construction sites, of the S-Pradipat (Pradipat Soi 23), S-Ratchada (Ratchada Soi 44) and The Move (Phahonyothin Soi 37) condominium projects, as part of fact-finding investigation. One of the complainants, “Thiewwat”, said today (Monday) that representatives of the community in Pradipat Soi 23 had lodged a complaint with the Phaya Thai district office, claiming that the community has been negatively affected by the project. bkk6060
Of course, any type construction negatively affects adjacent residents. There is construction going on all around Bangkok now. And, the places they live in negatively affected others when it was being built. It is all called money and progress cannot stop it.

Jackbenimble
Whether anything is done aboutt hings like this depends on WHO is complaining. With someone of sufficient weight and influence behind the complaint what tends to happen is the authorities allow the project to be completed and become established first. Then they have a better chance of extracting higher sums of money from the owner. Non-compliant owners are served with orders to make the reparations so the building is legal or risk a demolition order. A case in question was the very well extablished condo & hotel pairing in soi Ruamrudee which was taller and wider than the plans that were submitted and also closer to the road than is permitted. Money does tend to be the winner though and the law comes secondary.
