Popular Post webfact
BANGKOK, Sept 15 (TNA) – Pita Limjaroenrat has announced his resignation as the leader of the Move Forward Party, paving the way for the party’s member of parliament to replace him and to fulfill the role of the opposition leader in the Parliament. The Constitutional Court has suspended Pita as an MP since July 19 pending a ruling on media share holding case. In his statement, Pita said the constitution stipulates that the opposition leader must be an MP who is leader of the opposition party, holding the highest number of seats. Currently, he has been suspended from performing his duties as an MP, so he is unable to carry out the role of the opposition leader in the near future. Popular Post spidermike007
This was a wise decision. So far, Pita has shown us nothing but integrity and that is in very short supply here, when it comes to politics. They need to oppose the highly toxic army and the sold out PT, which likely lost alot of it's remaining goodwill by jumping into bed with the reptiles. Thailand mourns. For now, it's future has been stolen once again by the army thieves and goons. The army is no doubt the enemy of the people, and so is the new stooge PM. The recent election shows that the people are both sick of being led by highly ignorant dinosaurs, with no interest in progress, and are interested in smart, young folks, who are serious, accomplished, capable of change, and interested in insuring that Thailand has a good future. Pita is exactly what this nation needs, at this point in time. However, he was too progressive, and the goons had to stop him, in the name of regression. After all, this is a man who interrupted his studies at MIT, during an MBA program at Sloan to rescue his father's rice bran oil business, Agrifood, after this fathers death. He was successful, and is paying down the 100 million baht his father borrowed to start the company. This is a serious man. Very unlike the failures before him. He then went back and finished his MBA, at one of the top business schools on the planet. He is an accomplished man, unlike the army goons, who are only good at bossing young men around. Nothing else. Nada. Zero. Nunca. 41 3 2 24

Popular Post webfact
Move Forward party leader quits Pita Limjaroenrat has decided to step down as leader of the Move Forward party, paving the way for its committee to select his replacement, who will also become the leader of the Opposition in parliament. The decision was made after consulting the party’s administrative board and MPs, he wrote on his Facebook page today (Friday). His resignation comes as the new prime minister and his Cabinet officially begin work after delivering their policy statement in Parliament. “I am now under suspension at the order of the Constitutional Court, making me unable to be the opposition leader in the near future. Therefore, to enable the Move Forward party to work in parliament, I have decided to resign and the party committee will find my replacement,” he wrote. According to the Constitution, the House opposition leader shall be an MP who leads the political party with the largest number of opposition MPs, none of whom hold the post of government minister, House speaker or deputy speaker. But what do you suggest they do about it? Street riots have never had any effect in overturning such people it the past, and it would need a complete shutdown of businesses and the economy - a General Strike in Western terms - to achieve anything. And that is never going to happen, as the workers have no voice in Thailand and can't afford to give up their wage. 1

Hmmm, I must have read a different history book... People in a handful of countries made a difference at great personal cost. But the vast majority of the world even now lives on or below the breadline. Most of Africa, much of South America, some of Europe and a lot of Asia. And of all those countries, almost none have managed to overthrow a government and 'the system'. Certainly none in Third World countries. 1

The example was in front of him, with the same problem 4yrs back. I am certain, that if he did not have the shares, they would have figured out another way to remove him, get rid of him, jail him, or get him out of the way. He stands for progress. Sretta, Anutin, Prayuth, Prawit and the rest of the army goons, and now PT, are anti-progress, anti-reform, anti-improvement, anti-people, and anti forward movement. They are the masters of regression. 2 1 1 1
Hanuman2547
The Move Forward Party had a few policies that really upset a lot of older conservative Thais. This did not endear him to a significant number of the population. Can't really say much more than that on the subject if ya know what I mean. Jackbenimble
His faith in the political system must be at ground zero right now. To win a general election by such a margin and then be blocked from taking office by the remnants of the last incumbant must be a bitter pill to swallow. He stuck to his guns and his beliefs - the very things which won him the election - and it cost him. The present incumbant agreed to compromise and do other peoples bidding & it landed him the prize. Time will tell if it was the right move or not.......HE might not be the peoples choice but the process might just have done Thailand a favour.
