Thai monk-on-the-run: Holy man in ‘fur-ocious’ trouble for abusing animals

Royal Thai Police arrested another misbehaving Thai monk for repeatedly abusing animals and using them to haul a cart laden with offerings from devout merit makers.

The Watchdog Thailand Foundation (WDT) disclosed that the Thai monk had a previous run-in with the law for abusing animals, employing a goat, a donkey, a horse, and even a pig to pull his cart.

The WDT recently shared photographs of Nootee Thinnarat, a 65 year old Thai monk, on their official Facebook page on September 15. These images depict Nootee accepting food offerings in the morning and, shockingly, subjecting a white-brown Siberian Husky dog to pull a cart, straining the poor creature’s neck in the process. The page revealed…

“Witnesses, please report this to the police. Do not make any offerings to this mon, Nootee again. This time he’s abusing a Siberian Husky! This monk has been arrested before in Sa Kaeo, but he is not afraid of the law. He is not a monk, he is a beggar!”

Phon Police Sation Superintendent, Perachat Sakha, later told Channel 3 that the incident took place at the Mueang Phon Market in Phon district in the Isaan province of Khon Kaen.

A Husky dog pulling a sled with wheels on it.

It is interesting that the Thais care about this particular dog but yet do not care about the hundreds of thousands of sickly, mangy, flee infested soi dogs infesting the rest of Thailand.

a dog which is not meant for this climate. i am one with the universe.

So, from reading the comments, it's OK to use animals to pull the cart. It's even OK to use dogs but, not huskies?

Maybe the Monk knows nothing about dog breeds?

Surely the authorities should be looking for those who import the huskies to a country with a climate such as Thailand.

The dog shouldn't be pulling the cart at all! Isn't that the whole point of this article?

Tell me where this photo was taken where all dogs use a lead..........?

A trained dog does not need a harness because it will not drag the owner around, a collar is used only as a restraint...........????

It's a fake Husky.

Yes, could be.

But they could just give it,  a number 1 hair cut.

and a proper harness. and maybe a bamboo whip for the monk to keep the  dogs concentration up.

Job's a good'un.
