Thai wife is a western trained nurse - would international hospitals hire her?
To work in Thailand as a nurse she will need to pass the Thai nursing exams which are written/spoken and all done in Thai, age wise can be a problem for all jobs in Thailand while there are plenty of older nurses they very likely started when they were much younger. Palliative care is not very advanced in Thailand, so her skill here could be very useful, my limited knowledge of palliative care here is most of the 'nursing' is done by Myanmar staff with Thais as supervisors( i am talking about care homes here) and Thai doctors who visit when required, so this might be an avenue to explore, private care homes are growing in Thailand, with her experience i am sure she would find work. The pay for nurses is not very good and there are plenty of nurse, shortages which can benefit her, best see what hospitals want with her english skills start at the top international hospitals -

Working while permit is processing
Hi, First post. Apologies if I break any rules. Please imagine the following situation. A foreigner in Thailand is offered a teaching job at a school, found through an agency. Unfortunately the foreigner did not manage to arrange their working permit and the associated visa before the starting date at the school next week. Now both the school and the agency are telling the foreigner that they can start working at the school while their documents are still processing, which will take at least another month. The foreigner reckons that this is illegal and is hesitant, even though the agency insists that it is common practice. However, the foreigner needs a job. How should the foreigner proceed and why? Thanks for the insights. -

Trump Secures $142 Billion Arms Deal with Saudi Arabia and Lifts Sanctions on Syria
Not enough aid, and what sanctions? If you do nothing while China and EU countries buy sanctioned oil, is it really a sanction? I think not. Had Trump not canceled the Obama’s Iran deal, Iran would have nukes and no santions. -

Who is protecting Bangkok trains and their occupants?
Most modern cities have transportation police. Cameras don't hear the German Iranian born idiots blasting their music. -
