As a foreigner you will be denied many things in Thailand.

One experience I had, went to a nice resturant non airconditioned, clean, polite service. 3 Thai friends and myself.

We all ordered gwiteoo dishes, nothing exotic, with chicken or pork, all ordered a small bottle of water. Nothing more.

Thai colleague asked for the bill, cam separated into 2 parts:

- Food and water for Thais.

- Foodand water for farang.

My bill water 180Baht moe than the avereaged price for the Thai customers.

My Thai colleague asked why? Owner cam and said in Thai and in English "But foreigners have to pay more."

Colleague asked "But WHY do they have to pay more, the food and drink is the same, cooking is the same, service is the same?"

Response "If you don't pay we call the police.

We walked out, for the next 3 days we ordered room service food (3 star hotel where we were staying) enough for 4 people all delivered to one room occupied by a Thai person.

On second day and for rest of our stay one free Thai desert for all came with every order.

Food was quite good overall about 30% cheaper than the initial price (for Thai customers) we encountered on day one.

When that law came in, I registered my sim online.

I used a Thai ID number I got from an online Thai ID number generator.

It's the crooks that tend to hide things.

Maybe other countries should start being biased with Thais living there?

....the continued discrimination is an ugly look for a country like Thailand

Old people don't travel to other countries to find their young brides. Thailand knows it very well and treat all bride seekers in a way fitting way - yearly immigration visits, and all other inconveniences.

Let' see, this was posted:

Same here in Thailand we had to register our Sims  a couple Yrs with our ID (Passport) at the providers Shop AIS .

That's nothing new that Law came in a few Yrs ago. That's to stop one having Unregistered Sims for  Lawless activity.

Why didn't you just go the legit route and get a SIM at a shop using your passport? Too lazy or just a thug wanting to circumvent the lawful process?

ED?  Hmmmmm  Why do you always have penises on your mind?

Been here for over 20 years.

Where have I been aggressive?

I get annoyed by stupid foreigners.

Obviously you've been here far too long - if calling people stupid just because you don't agree with them isn't aggressive then at the very least it's arrogant.

I would have recorded, complained, paid and  then posted it on social media.

The tourist police would have contacted you for evidence, dragged you to the establishment where the owner would have been obliged to comp the meal and issue the obligatory wai as everything was just a big misunderstanding.

What a missed opportunity.

Thanks this is the information I was looking for, did you also use it for your extensions at immigration? I heard it is enough to show your balance from the phone's screen at some IOs

No. My 800k for the retirement extension is on a separate standard saving account (with passbook) because the extension was done before i opened these digital accounts (1 month later)

Before the renewal extension next year, I will ask the immigration if this digital account with bank book is acceptable. I have actually more than 800k in these digital accounts. But they might refuse because it would be only 11 months showing the 800k even if i show them the standard saving with bank book with the 800k untouched.

Wait for it; in China it's hard to get even a SIM card, as it needs to be registered by the shop, which can only be done online if the buyer has  a Chinese ID card. I'm waiting for that to be introduced in Thailand...

There's many countries that are the same as this with regards to registering SIM cards.

There's your problem - UK

My Thai wife while in the USA reporting as my wife was able to obtain a social security card (which enabled her to work) and a bank account which was interest bearing.

I guess it sucks to be a Brit. You're ancestors should have taken a voyage on the Mayflower.

You think ????????????
