Popular Post webfact
PRIME MINISTER SRETTHA Thavisin today (Oct.3) has suspended the procurement of any weapon systems during fiscal 2024 so that, he said, the government’s annual budget could be spent for optimum use. The prime minister said he has instructed the Ministry of Defence to keep any otherwise-planned procurement of weapon systems and accessories on hold throughout fiscal 2024, beginning on Oct.1, so an estimated 3.48 trillion baht budget worth of the taxpayer’s money will be used in optimum fashion. Not only the army, navy and air force but all other government agencies have been given the prime minister’s directive to suspend any otherwise-planned procurement of hardware materials and equipment as had been the case year in year out, according to the prime minister. “I don’t know about weapon systems which may refer to anything ranging from jet fighters and helicopters to ammunition, among others, but they all are to be put on hold for now. Popular Post Gandtee
While I admire the Prime Minister's order to put the procurement of weapons on hold. I would suggest that he brings in stringent gun control to curb the ever increasing deaths and injuries caused by the civilian population weiding firearms. Thailand has killed more of its own population than any killed in any outside conflict in recent years.???? 1 2

Absolutely agree...I can not understand why private gun ownership is not banned here and the carrying of guns of off-duty officers is more strictly controlled. For sure other neighboring countries can do and don't have kindergarten and mall shootings or shooting rampages triggered by lost loves and faces...

spidermike007
If he is sincere about this, which is questionable, the army must be pissed off, and doubting they chose the correct puppet for the job. 1 1
Elkski
Its a travesty to have a contract that you buy a sub without some backout clause if they cant get the engine you specified. No way will USA sell (deleted) Thailand f35s!
edwinchester
Good idea to put the Chinese sub purchase on hold after reports 55 Chinese submariners have died in an accident to one of their submarines.
