I've had a Thai bank account for over 10 years - I have my reasons for asking the question.

Go on then, tell us all the reasons so we do not make the same mistake as you did.

Why do you think I'm making any mistakes?  I simply asked a couple of questions. I don't expect the Spanish Inquisition.

OK, it was a simple, honest question, so your reasons remain unknown, to both A Now and the Spanish.

0.73%

AEON 150 Baht but limited to 20000 Baht makes 0.75%.

it is not as simple as that as there are limits for withdrawals imposed by home banks and many will not allow a 30k withdrawal.

I withdraw at the counter but make sure that it's well over B30,000. so that they can't redirect me to the ATM. No fees from the bank or my card provider back home and the standard decent MasterCard ForEx rate.

It does show as a financial transaction on my statement but is not subject to a daily cash limit, just my overall credit limit.

Sorry, can't help myself...

"No one ever expects the Spanish Inquisition."

"Last time I used a foreigen debit card in Thailand"

As has been said Charles Schwab reimburses all fees charged when using their debit card.

Total charges are added up and reimbursed once a month.
