The PLO seemed to be diplomatic but Hamas apparently don't like them

Gazans and West Bank Palestinians are very different cultures. Gazans are basically Egyptians, and have rarely been politically connected to the West Bank.

This is not correct, and was discussed on previous posts. Gazans in the sense you imply  are a minority in the Gaza Strip, and had been for generations.
