Getting tired of looking at people's dirty feet, shorts, flip flops and stinky tee-shirts.

Anyone missing being able to wear regular clothing? Yearning to wear some nice long pants, closed toe shoes and an undershirt, but it looks strange when everyone else is dressed in cheap clothes with dirty feet.

I guess the closest place to get away with it would be Bangkok, but even then would look strange unless I was at work.

I wear long pants shoes socks and dress ss shirt every day in bkk a lot of people do.

Or wear jeans and t shirt

When it comes to grotesque or reprehensible attire, nothing like going to a farang sports bar and enjoying the sight of the beer bellies mouting all over.

I'm not sure what you mean by mouting, but one can see beer bellies in every country just by walking around any city.

I wear normal closed shoes for driving, thus often wear when out and about with socks, shorts or long trousers

Finished farm tasks for a few hours so now sitting outside in the breeze relaxing, short sleeve shirt, long pants as not active and keeps mosquito attacks to an absolute minimum

Wear wellington boots to the farm every day with socks work hard often no problem with smelly feet but I do shower 4 times a day, more if working hard and required

Change clothes usually 3 times a day

And yes see Thai feet taking a bit of a hammering here in rural Thailand

I doubt if you will see any more beer bellies in any country in the world than Pattaya. The reasons for that I would think is pretty obvious.

Jim Tripper, in my younger years in the late '80's when I was running the girly bars in Manila, I always wore my brand name suits with ties, all of which were made in Paris. I was always the best dressed guy on the strip, and I never had trouble picking up the ladies. They always flocked to where I was seated. I moved to Thailand 13 years ago, and I like to think I am the best dressed farang in my city. Why would anyone want to dress "down" to blend in with these low-class farmers. I don't dress to impress others. I dress to please myself. It makes me feel good and gives a boost to my dignity and self-respect, so why not. Dress the way you like, and don't worry about what others think of you. When you get to a point in your life where you aren't concerned with pleasing others, that is true freedom!

I never wear shorts and always where shoes when I go out.  It's just hard to walk in slippers and there is so much broken glass and trash everywhere.

Shorts just feel like pajamas to me.

Too hot. Thais wear pyjamas to shopping centres.

Retired football players working on tv were suits and ties sometimes. Why?

I agree suits and ties look stupid.

Just wear normal clothes.

I think footballers wearing bras are not normal. Have they been paid by a company that wants ti introduce a new fashion line?

No sign of beer bellies with these hunks.

In the bar.

Under Armour's are actually one of the few things that I have found here that works for me that don't get sweaty, stinky & sticky and looks decent.

They are pretty pricey new though so I get them used whenever I can, especially the "heat gear" ones.

I love how people move to anther country and then want those people to change to your ways. Enjoy and learn the culture, you might like it.

OP lives in Patts so I'll hazard a guess and say he's taking about the disheveled foreigners - mostly Western European, Brit and Aussie farang - who infest the place.

I saw one such example in Building A at Jomtien Immi a month ago when doing my TM47. Toenails like the claws of some hellspawn, cheap cargo shorts and singlet, and reeking of B.O.

You have to dig really deep into your jai yen yen bag not to get completely disgusted by such sights.

What's stopping you from dressing well?

Other than it sounds like you have based yourself where people are being slobs.

I was just in EmQuartier and Emporium and pretty much everyone was dressed smartly.  Just go to places that have higher quality patrons.

I hate them and think they are stinky, dangerous, noisy, and low class.  I know people over the years who have suffered some fairly serious injuries due to lack of proper foot cover.

I wonder if people wear them possibly because they cannot afford a decent pair of shoes or possibly never learned to tie shoelaces.

Slip-ons do make it easier when you are expected to take them off when entering a building or shop.
