Designer clothes: Do you like them, want them, wear them? Why? Or why not?
Speaking of Fashion: When I first arrived in Asia, say to a country like Taiwan..... It seemed to be the height of fashion to wear shoes. Being able to afford and wear shoes, especially for younger people, was considered both fortunate and fashionable. And in China, there were families who would have their children share a fashionable set of clothes. If a family had three children, then each child would be able to wear the set of clothes twice per week, and become fashionable. On the other days, they would go naked. Going naked was not considered fashionable, then. But, for me, due to the heat, even today.... My nakedness is fashionable. I have become tired of clothes, after so many years living in these climes. Yet, I sometimes become nostalgic of my early youth when I would wear tweed. I love the look and feel of tweed. But, first one needs to have a pair of shoes. -

However, the company he served for years working at confirmed he had passed away on Sunday (August 10). The reasoning for Mikhail's death has not been publicly made available, according to Intellinews. However, his bizarre and sudden passing comes as the latest in an increasingly suspicious string of deaths of some of Russia's economic elite. Accident Two Girls Critically Injured; Driver Denies Responsibility

A father has appealed for justice after his daughter and her friend, both 17 years old, were critically injured in a head-on collision caused by a pickup truck that crossed lanes. Despite the severity of the crash and the girls’ urgent medical needs, the driver involved is reportedly refusing to take responsibility. Mr Warin, 50, from Pruksa 12 Village, Moo 2, Khlong Sam Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani, told reporters that his daughter, Ms Jariya, 18, was riding a motorcycle with her friend Ms Itsaveeporn, 17, on the evening of 6 August. The two had gone out to get a birthday cake for Ms Jariya’s birthday. The collision happened at around 21:00 near a delivery service shop on Liap Khlong Sam Road, Prachathipat Subdistrict, Thanyaburi District. According to Mr Warin, a pickup truck first collided with another vehicle before skidding into the opposite lane and crashing head-on into the girls’ motorcycle. Both young women were thrown from the bike and seriously injured. Mr Warin described the damage to the motorcycle as severe and feared the worst when he arrived at the scene. His daughter sustained a fractured femur and multiple wounds requiring over 30 stitches, while Ms Itsaveeporn suffered fractures to her hip and pelvis, necessitating surgery. The family has filed a police report with Pratunam Chulalongkorn Police Station. However, Mr Warin expressed concerns over the investigation, noting that police failed to conduct an alcohol breath test on the driver because the equipment was reportedly out of order. This lack of testing has shaken the family’s confidence in the justice process. Moreover, the driver’s insurance policy is invalid and he has been evasive about compensation, telling the family to rely on legal procedures instead. The medical expenses are high and the families have had to shoulder the financial burden themselves. Ms Supornthip, 48, mother of Ms Itsaveeporn, confirmed that her daughter remains in critical condition. The doctors have warned that after surgery, her daughter may need to use a wheelchair for three months, with uncertain prospects for regaining full mobility. Her health insurance coverage is nearly exhausted, forcing the family to switch to the state’s 30-baht healthcare scheme. Police have also informed the families that the blood test results of the driver involved have not yet been released, heightening the families’ anxiety. The malfunctioning alcohol testing equipment and delays in obtaining blood test results leave many questions unanswered. Crime Cyber Police, AIS Nab Teens for SMS Fraud in Bangkok

Cyber police, in collaboration with AIS, have arrested two men suspected of using a False Base Station (FBS) device to send fraudulent SMS messages containing fake links aimed at stealing money from victims across Bangkok. The operation, named “Operation Pinklao,” was announced on 10 August by Pol Lt Gen Trairong Phiwpan, Commander of the Cyber Crime Investigation Division and Wisit Sakchai, AIS Corporate Relations Manager. The suspects, aged 20 and 21, were found driving around the city sending out fake SMS messages impersonating government and private agencies. The messages falsely warned recipients that their reward points were about to expire, urging them to click on malicious links that would drain their bank accounts. Previous similar cases had been reported in Sathorn, Rama IV, Sukhumvit and Phetchaburi areas, involving both Thai and foreign suspects. This latest arrest followed complaints to AIS from customers receiving suspicious SMS messages. Working closely with AIS engineers, cyber police tracked the suspects to a petrol station on Sirindhorn Road in Bang Phlat district, where they were stopped and searched. The two suspects, identified as Nirun (20) and Kittiwara (21), were found with an FBS device and four mobile phones inside their vehicle. During questioning, Nirun admitted they were hired via a Chinese financier on the Telegram app, earning 2,500 baht daily to send the scam SMS. The pair confessed to carrying out the scheme three times. They face six charges, including illegal possession and use of radio transmission equipment, operating a radio station without a licence, unauthorised use of radio frequencies, attempted fraud, signal interception and involvement in a criminal gang. Mr Wisit explained the FBS device can broadcast fake SMS messages within a radius of 1-2 kilometres, sending over 20,000 fraudulent texts per day. AIS reaffirmed it does not send links asking customers to input personal data nor make direct phone calls for such purposes.
