Prohibited items into British visa office at the Trendy Building

They have a nice long list of prohibited items on the invite letter.

Does it, in practice, include a mobile phone? Clearly a phone normally has a camera and recording devices and many other things which they expressly prohibit.

My assumption is yes, and if so, any good lockers nearby to store it in?

I am pretty sure the last time I got a new passport there, they allowed us to store the phones in some draw on the premises. But they expressly rule that out in this letter.

Been there are few times over the past couple of years (my passport and sons).

I can't remember it being an issue at all.

I think they just ask you not to use your phone...

My missus a problem with her Samsung tablet. She wasn't allowed to take it in and they did not provide storage facilities. She had to leave the 28th floor and find a friendly office that would look after it for her.

Yes, phones are allowed, at least I had no problem in April this year. No hassle with using it either but wasn't filming anything. On a previous visit, security didn't even want to let me in with GF as I wasn't the one applying for the Visa.
