In a distressing event, the "Khon Kaen Loan Shark Gang" forcibly entered the home of a significant debtor's daughter, engaging in a violent altercation that involved gunfire. This deadly confrontation, which led to the unfortunate loss of the young woman's life, stemmed from a dispute over daily interest rates.

The borrower initially obtained a loan of ten thousand baht and had already returned a sum totaling thirteen thousand baht, comprising both the borrowed principal and an interest of 3,000 baht, reported Daily News.

Nonetheless, despite these repayments, the loan shark group expressed dissatisfaction and insisted on an extra daily fee of 400 baht for a three-month period, leading to an astounding total interest accumulation of 36,000 baht.

On October 16, at approximately noon, authorities from the Paed Police Station in Khon Kaen were called to examine the shooting incident that took place at a dwelling in the Sawathi district of Mueang Khon Kaen.

Upon arrival at the location, they found a severely wounded woman, estimated to be around forty-eight years old, who had sustained three gunshot wounds. Preliminary investigations indicated that the firearm used was connected to an illicit loan shark operation.

The victim had borrowed ten thousand baht previously, and despite making repayments totaling thirteen thousand baht, she refused to comply with the exorbitant daily interest rate demand. In desperation, the loan shark gang resorted to violence, vandalizing her home before committing the fatal shooting. The police have identified the suspects involved and are pursuing legal action against both the loan shark gang and their financial backers.

Seems unfair, but at least the debtor is still alive to pay his debt. Totally stupid to EVER get involved with these awful thugs and usurers.

Confusing as is often the case!

Who borrowed the money? The victim or the victim's parent?
