More than a few dollars. Russia is among the largest trading partner with Thailand with exports of 1.02 B USD and large investments in real estate, business and tourist revenues that will grow to 10 B. Sretha is doing what best for Thailand notwithstanding Putin is a evil pariah and a human rights abuser.

Do people actually think Putin will come, I will put my life savings days he won’t, too much of a security risk for him although he could send one of his stunt doubles.

I guess I would have been upset about that years ago.

Not anymore.

Because if Thailand would not invite any politicians who did something bad anymore, who would be left?

No Russia, China, America, and many more.

Would that be overall good for Thailand? I don't think so.

And then there is the argument that to improve relations and behavior people have to talk to each other.

Being on the wrong side of history means nothing if we have no future. We are going down that road it seems. Or not?

As Thailand is a signatory to the Rome Convention (membership to the International Criminal Court) they would have to arrest him when he touches down on Thai soil.

I don't think Russians in Thailand would appreciate the visit of the person they are running away from. Putin will have an easier access to those people if he becomes pretty chummy with the Thai PM.🤷🏻‍♀️

Putin can come to Thailand and meet with all the draft dodgers.  He can hear their concerns and address their fears.  Or he might just poison them all.

Maybe he was just <deleted> with him because they both know he can’t go anywhere else except maybe a few countries because he’s wanted by The Hague for war crimes. I assure you that you will NEVER see Vladimir Putin in Thailand.

The only thing necessary for evil to triumph in the world is that good men do nothing.

It seems Thailand wishes to align itself alongside such countries as N Korea, Belarus, Eritrea and China.

in reality, it’s nothing to do with geopolitics and all to do with agriculture exports, tourists, tourists and more tourists. That’s about the depth of Thai foreign policy.

How clever is our PM. Invites a known criminal to Thailand and then has him arrested and he collects the reward. Or does he share it with the 90-day visa escapees avoiding conscription? Well done PM.

Thailand does not have the balls to arrest Putin

Thailand is a small trading nation dependent on relationship with major powers. Neutrality and non-alignment are foreign policies adopted by all Asean countries.

Are you seriously comparing the current stance of Thailand to that of Singapore?
