An area I wanted to loop back through I decided to ride up tomorrow. I decided to ride back, there were some steep areas but nothing the CT125 could not handle, and the highest point was 1500 meters.

Google sent me off road not long after leaving my hotel and from Wat Pa Saraphi, there was a kilometer of stony track before I got  back onto route.

To get here was a 50 minute ride off the main road and a mixture of small roads, and tracks.

Speaking with a local cow herder she told be the road did continue to a way out, but it was very steep. So I decided to ride along the side of the Mae Chaem River until the farmers tracks disappeared into the jungle, the returned to Mae Chaem.

Today was day 70 of my ride and I rode an easy ride from Mae Chaem to Mae Sariang. I only stopped to take photos once I arrived at the Yuam River, here.

Today I went to explore some reservoirs in Mae Sariang. Even at nearly 10am there was still lots of fog about. My first stop was at an un-named reservoir, here.

Chatting with a farmer I found out the track continued on for a while. I kept going until a dead-end at a small rice terrace, here.

I followed this road until it turned into a track and decided to continue as far as could. Eventually I ended up having to cross and ride up the river to keep going quite a few times. I only stopped when I could see no sign of anyone having already ridden there even though the track and river kept going.

Today I went exploring rivers and reservoirs north of Mae Sariang.

My first stop which was very near was Nong Tahuk Daeng Health Garden, a small but clean and tidy place, here.

Riding north along an irrigation channel I turned to go to Phra That Chom Mon which is up a very steep ride on a small hill, here.

I did ride up the hill at the dam to see if I could find a good view, but could not. I then returned to Mae Sariang.

Today I rode 312km directly from Mae Sariang to Tak. The morning was a lot warmer than the last few days which was a nice change.

Today I went exploring some new places in Kanchanaburi. But before leaving I took a couple of shots of the River Kwai from my hotel.

Leaving the city I crossed Koh Samrong-Nong Ya Bridge that crosses the River Kwai Noi, here.

Today I headed out of Kanchanaburi to check out some reservoirs and to see how near I could ride to the Burmese border.

I then failed to get to the Burma border, I came to a steep gully that the CT125 was just ok with in first gear but the loose stones eventually helped be decide to call it a day after two near spills.

Today was hot, dusty and very hazy due to air pollution. My first stop was at Khao Meng Temple, where the bad visibility was very bad. Two photos are the same, one without editing out some of the haze the other as original.

Nearby I explored some off road tracks, before riding north past Grand Prix Golf Course and looping back through many sugar cane fields starting here. (I found this area from Captain Slash’s site. Thanks Colin Scullion).

Today was another interesting day exploring Ban Kruat. Heading north east I was on small roads and farmers tracks just outside of town. My first stop was Lahan Sai Mai Reservoir, here.

I rode all around it on good tracks, finding a large charcoal kiln here.

Next to it was the walk behind tractor, locally called a tak tak I understand, pumping water out of the reservoir.

Further round a rescued a turtle that was cooking in the sun and took it to the edge of the reservoir.

I looped north and back to road 224 mostly off road before returning to Ban Kruat.

Yesterday was the last day of my ride, day 87. I was riding to Koh Chang, but at the last minute changed my mind.

It’s been a great ride, seen great views and no punctures or accidents! Just short of 14k at 13,925km
