ukrules Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 So BB guns and toy guns (blank firing) are illegal?

A recent thread on that subject came to absolutely NO solid conclusion. Some say illegal, Google says legal. Once again, Thai laws are clear as mud. https://aseannow.com/topic/1311061-gas-operated-bb-guns/#comment-18475129
bendejo Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 Whatever a guy in a brown uniform tells you is the law. You pay now. 1

I was in an argument with an idiot member (can you imagine that?) whose only defense was to suggest I "Google this for legality." I did, and Google claims air guns are legal in Thailand. 1

No, but they meet the definition of a firearm in Thai law and as such would require licencing to import/hold/distribute. I'm guessing the illegality in this case is the absence of conformity to bureaucratic procedures. re. the blank firers: "The firearm imitations are controlled goods being sold without the Thai government’s permission" Everyone getting very "huffy" with Anutins new regs. on the way: https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/general/40031632 1

I guess they've decided to completely disarm the country. "He said he would not allow ordinary people to get a permit to own a firearm" No guns for the peasants...got it. 1
ChicagoExpat Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 These are Airsoft guns? They're sold all over Bangkok.
