November 7, 20232 yr How long do you need to be out of Thailand to get another 30 days? Friend coming from France, will be here for three and half months then back to France. Do they get 60 days on entry to Thailand? Says so on the Thai Gov Tourist website but I do not think it is updated. Will go visit Lao for one week then come back overland at Nong Khai, do they get a 30 day visa?

There is no minimum period required outside Thailand before returning from Laos. Even returning the same day is permitted. Your friend, as a French national will not need a visa to return to Thailand. He is eligible for a 30-day visa exempt entry.

November 7, 20232 yr OP, so your friend needs less than 4 months. Can enter visa exempt and obtain 30 day extension then exit Thailand and reenter visa exempt+ extension. Equals 4 months. OR Enter with SETV plus extension only provides 90 days. Yes can do border run however on balance the first option seems more simple.
