13 year old girl confesses to fabricating minibus driver rape story

The 13 year old girl who reportedly accused a minibus driver of drugging and sexually assaulting her, later confessed that she had fabricated the rape story. However, a medical examination revealed signs of sexual assault and her relatives are suspected.

 

The grandmother of the victim revealed to the public that her 13 year old granddaughter lost control of herself and panicked after a trip to Bangkok. According to the grandmother, the girl allegedly informed her that she was raped by a minibus driver.

 

The grandmother added that the girl kept crying and saying the minibus driver’s name. The girl reportedly called the driver evil as well.

 

The girl’s father also came forward to confirm the possibility of sexual assault, as his daughter arrived at his home later than expected.

So, today 13 year old kids make up stories like that. Why, and for what gain? If she did make it up, as it can also be a reaction of the pressure and heat that comes with an accusation of that kind. Hard for a 13 year old to handle, and she might have seen an easy way out. Otherwise, it´s horrible if kids start to make up things like this.

I'm not sure she made up a story.  According to the original story a few days ago, the girl was in such a state that she couldn't provide details.  The linked Thaiger article seems to confirm that:

 

ThaiRath reported that the girl said she had never told the family that the minibus driver was a rapist. Her family members made the statement to the media.

 

And the story isn't over, by a long shot.  Especially since she's 13 and could not legally consent to sex.

 

Nevertheless, a sexual assault did take place but a further investigation is needed to confirm the rapist’s identity. Police believe the rapist must be a person who has a close relationship with her, a family member, or her relative.

Yes, as I said too. It can be pressure that gets her to draw back any kind of accusation. Sound a little bit too mush that 13 year old kids make up such things.

The news is very confusing about "Did he, or didn't he?".

A doctor could assist by testing whether she is still a virgin. 

If rape was a capital offence, may on AN would have hung the driver by now.

According to the article, he already did.  Not 100% clear whether it was consensual or violent, but definitely sex.

When I got to this bit in the report it sort of made feel a little sick to my stomach.

According to the father’s account, his 16 year old son travelled on the minibus with his daughter during her departure trip from his house in Bangkok to Khon Kaen.

The victim’s father added that his son suffered a mental health breakdown after the trip. He later tested positive for methamphetamine.

 

Trying not to read between the lines, but to me something is definitely not right there.

If she think the guy did anything illegal then she and her parents should report it to the police.

And they should investigate. And then maybe a court will convict the guy.

Have you been living under a rock or very nieve? I know a couple of men this has happened too, quite often when a man starts living with a woman with children. The reason is simple they want rid of the new guy!!! Also there are many cases of rape accusations being lies which muddies the water for real rapes. In scotland a girl can meet a guy in a night club go home with him and when he dosent phone the girl cries rape a week later  and because she had a drink the guy is locked up.... Not a good time....

The story is still not making sense.  So the girl was sexually assaulted.  So she picks the driver to accuse then says he didn’t do it.  Someone obviously did it according to the evidence.  But she isn’t sure anything happened because of her frame of mind   And the brother was there also.  But obviously he doesn’t know anything because of his frame of mind and other personal issues.  This whole story makes no sense whatsoever.  Obviously someone is hiding something
