Work permit and M.E visa to non b

I've been working here for 10+ years now, I plan to take some time out in August for 6-12 months to spend more time with my family.

 

What is the most straightforward option for a visa?

 

O visa based on spouse

O visa based on child

O visa based on child's school - international school. 

 

I would prefer not to do border runs if I can help it.

O Visa plus 12 month extension based on Thai Wife. (Assuming you are male)

OP, you mention "my family" .

What is not clear is the nationality of your family.

If you have Thai wife then a good option is 12 month extension based on marriage to a Thai. A

Wife and daughter hold dual nationalities - Thai.

Do any options mean I won't have to do a visa run and can change a B to O or does it always require a border crossing?
