Is this a dumb idea?

Here's another idea. GF wants to go to Nan too. So maybe KC too far. 3 week trip. The rangers told me Khao Yai is best in Dec or Jan as elephants come out of bushes more when not hot. Be in January. So Khao Yai sounds good. Phimai is easy stop. Then hunt up to Kamphaeng Phet and onto Nan the back via Kho Kor.

Adding a beach adds a lot of km

Sounds good except for Nan which I thought was a boring waste of time.

Yeah its out of the way too. The views look nice but thats half a day. If drop Nan then adding a beach is more doable. The road between Pattaya and KC is pretty good. Ive done it before.

I agree,

Its not only the destination , enjoy the trip.

Stop often and don't be afraid to meander.

2-3 days? why not. What's the hurry?

As I said we plan to make the same trip . so please ,please start a Thread , with things you found interesting.  and places to stay at.

3 weeks in total. I did a 10 day trip in March.

Everyone has different interests. Nan is lovely and a favorite especially of most motorbike riders. I was there twice and plan to go again. But yes, in this case it is far away from your route and not recommended because of the distance.
