Does anyone know what's the current situation at the Myanmar Border? is it sill closed? or possible to do?

 

also how many land border runs one can do per year? is there a limit? thanks

Ranong border runs are open. Victory point or Andaman club. 2 visa exempts per year.

2 visa exempts per year - does it mean you get a clean slate from january 1st every year, or 'per year' means whichever time per year, you count 365 days back?

It's two per calendar year.

I once spent a very enjoyable few hours in the Myanmar town on the other side with the friendly IO lamenting when I left that I wouldnt stay longer. The visa was for 7 days. Probably not safe now with the political situation.

I dont think so. Why? Is it a short-tme hotel? I only stayed a few hours. Played pool with some locals somewhere.

ur allowed up to 14 days on the $10 stamp but limited to within ( i think) Only 20 kms from town>
i spent 3 days there years ago. rented a boat for 1 day to explore around
