Waiting time tourist evisa.

Featured Replies

Hi all,

As a Belgian citizen, I applied for a tourist evisa on the 20th of december. Today, 28th of december, my application is still pending. Knowing that I will arrive on January 3rd in Thailand, I start to stress out. I will stay 2 months. Of course, I could buy a train ticket to go to Laos or another neighboring country and do a "visa run" but out of experience, I have always known that the appliction for a visa is always 1 working day.

What is happening? Anybody else having the same experience.

One working day ?

Where did you get that information from ?

With Christmas and New Year holidays don't be surprised if it is not processed before you arrive in Thailand.

UK my METV. arrived within 5 days. With Christmas holidays and New Year pending you may have cut it a bit fine. Good luck 🤞

Given the two holidays since you applied, not surprising you're still waiting for it.  Hopefully it'll come in the next few days.

But, given you say you're only staying 2 months, you can always come in visa exempt and get 30 days and then get another 30-day extension at Immigration (or, alternatively,

do the border hop you mentioned).  Either way, you'll be good for 60 days.
