The biggest ongoing failure is the absence of journalism to cover these events. The people on here who know nothing about the region simply take as true any FEMA press release, or comments from governors, the white house, congressmen, or other politicians. It seems that journalism these days amounts to calling up someone from the safety of your hotel room, asking for a self serving comment from the "authorities" in charge, and then putting it out for publication. Used to be that journalists didn't take the word of agencies and politicians. They went into the area on their own. Here that requires hiking through flood ravaged forests or following along with mule trains. Smartphone journalism doesn't bother with that.- 1

Trump to remove legal immigrants.
The Law is clear - you cannot enter a country illegally and then apply for asylum without providing clear evidence that you are under threat of persecution. Trump will pass an EO banning the application of asylum to all people who illegally entered USA via the southern border. They could have applied for asylum in Mexico, and on that basis they will be all deported to Mexico and placed in a UNHRC camp there. The Dems will try to keep them all by using Courts and UNHR BS - Trump will veto that and force them back out. Only then will all those illegals who enter via Mexico know that they cannot stay and will be hunted down and deported if they do. Trump will remove all illegals - one way or the other. The world has had enough of the UNHR BS that has been abused by economic and social refugees from the 3rd world for decades. Trump will show them all the way out of this economic and social disaster - and that will include removing USA from the BS UNHR rules that are being abused. NATO and UN are just 2 of the many self-serving bureaucratic socialist organisations that have been feeding/growing off the USA funding for many decades - Trump is going to shut them all down. -

Your Two Months Rental Deposit
I rented for about 18 months when I first came here and was looking for land, then building a house. I got my deposits back. I had a friend who has since passed away, who was renting a 2 bed condo for 25000 baht a month. When he moved out the charming landlady deducted 25 baht for a lightbulb that had not been replaced. He was very rich guy, but went ape over this pettiness....he got his 25 baht back. I had another friend that drilled holes all over a house he was renting to put up shelves, TV mounts, coat hangers and other stuff. In fairness he filled the holes up, but the places they had been drilled were very visible. The landlord deducted a large amount of money for these fillings, and my mate got pretty angry about the whole thing and complained. The landlord refused to give the money back. Answer honestly: are you a good tenant or not really? In not really you might end up paying. The other thing is that (not sure off all Thailand) I am not sure if the landlord is responsible for any maintenance while you are renting the place......if the electric goes off or the roof leaks, you need to get and pay for an electrician or roofer. If the microwave breaks, you need to buy a new one. Sounds odd to Western ears but it is fairly standard in rural areas. -
