How about any reccomendations for a funny movie?

Been too long of a time finding one. Some times those under the radar can

Not a movie but a Brit tv series which I found made me laugh, so have watched a few times, to lighten my mood when necessary, called: "The Thin Blue Line" and starring Rowan Atkinson.

As per a few recommendations on here, I watched the series "Ludwig" and found it good if sometimes puzzling, and the end was different and  most unexpected.....so pleased I watched it.

I found it puzzling too, the series was about a puzzle-designer solving puzzling crimes 🙂

Showtrial............. Season 2 --- 5 1hr parts.   Legal thriller

Season one 2022 was quite well watched----& still around

When a climate activist is left for dead after a hit-and-run, he uses his dying words to name his killer - a serving police officer. With the country divided, will defense solicitor Sam Malik take on the trial of the decade? Tense legal thriller, starring Adeel Akhtar and Michael Socha.

They are Re-releasing 5 Programs this week--- IMO 2 of them are good enough for a re-watch--

Unbelievable

Based on  true story----Toni Collette, plays the lead---good acting.  released 2019 The book got the Pulitzer prize

After a teen is charged with a crime for reporting her own assault, two detectives hunt for the serial offender

BlackBird-----  Crime -Thriller

The acting of Paul Walter Hauser (child Killer)  is terrific, should have got him an award.

Jimmy Keene is sentenced to 10 years in a minimum security prison but he cuts a deal with the FBI to befriend a suspected serial killer.

Keene has to elicit a confession from Larry Hall to find the bodies of as many as eighteen women. Only Released in 2022, you can still pick this up on Pirates etc.

I think this may have been Ray Liotta last appearance on TV

-------

The Act--- Patricia Arquette and Joey King star as DeeDee and Gypsy Rose Blanchard, a mother and daughter whose story ends in murder when Gypsy attempts to escape her mother's torture

Under the Bridge-----Lily Gladstone and Riley Keough lead this ensemble cast in the story of a young girl's disappearance and the shocking secret world she was connected to.

The People Vs O.J.Simpson-------An all-star cast brings to life the O.J. Simpson murder trial and the events leading up to it in the first season of Ryan Murphy's "American Crime Story-

Watchable even though you know the ending---at least I found out where the Kardasians suddenly appeared  from

BalackBird

Peep Show, Ideal. Both Brit sitcoms.

No problem, and there were a couple of clues earlier on in the piece, and I thought overall it was a clever story.

"The Dome"

I thought "Lost" was brilliant

it was called, under the dome, I thought it was excellent. The first time Hank from BB appeared on my TV.

Another show around that time was Hero’s .. probably quite dated now.

The current series and episode of Slow Horses is pretty tense, and it’s not even the finale. (Darkness) Those who kill started off pretty pedestrian but ended up in a pretty dark complex plot, I enjoyed it.

Guys is there no recent funny stuff?

if you are appreciate Brit humour, I started S01 of the cleaner the other day, it’s ok. Its  just started a third series, so I thought it was worth a look, my mum rates it too.

One of the best comedy shows in my recent memory was King Gary - everyone knows a Gary King from around my way. Funny as you like.

Brassic has been mentioned here a few times recently. I caught the first couple of the new series, sometimes the series are a bit wobbly, but this one looks solid enough, starting out with Shirley watching 80s Lycra aerobic porn with cling film over the keyboard of his laptop.

I really enjoyed this mini series, yes, based on a true story. A well worthy recommendation.

sorry, someone pointed out to me that last night was the finale and I watched a trailer to the next season at the end, which looks off the scale, with the whole Frank Harkness universe expanding.

We all know Gary Olman one of the UK’s finest, we have had enough posts about his believable filthy appearance but I thought the scene with Jack Lowden was pretty true to life, he looked so pissed off.

Thanks for the heads up @oxo1947. I enjoyed season 1, so lets hope season 2 is as good.

Isn't that just another remake?

NO, a sequel, though you may want to give it a pass.  Watched it the other night, and a bit disappointed (IMDB 7+ / Me 4).

Along with Hellboy & Radleys, and lasted about 15 mins with both those.

Dumb Money is listed on IMDB as a comedy but I would say it is a drama with a few funny bits. Not really recent but do not recall anyone talking about it on this thread.  I think the IMDB 6.9 is about right. I enjoyed it but I did not follow the GameStop stock story when it was happening.

I tried to watch the movie, "Alpha Dog", but gave up after a while because it didn't seem to make any sense to me/I couldn't follow it!

I did download an older movie, "Pandorum" to watch last night and it was okay, although one poster has said he was disappointed with the ending, however I thought it was okay – – at least it ended on a bright note!

I wouldn't call this a must see exactly, but if you happen to be in the mood for a horror movie with kind of an art film sensibility (basically a very dark mood piece to my perception) then you could do much worse than Longlegs.
