Popular Post Social Media Posted January 27, 2024 Popular Post Posted January 27, 2024 A senior judge from the D.C. district court strongly rebuked attempts to distort the narrative surrounding the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, expressing shock at the efforts to "rewrite history." Senior judge Royce Lamberth, with nearly 40 years of judicial experience, criticized public figures for attempting to label the perpetrators of the violence as "hostages" in a scathing ruling on Thursday. Lamberth expressed dismay at the distortion of facts and outright falsehoods that have entered the public consciousness, stating, "I have been shocked to watch some public figures try to rewrite history, claiming rioters behaved 'in an orderly fashion' like ordinary tourists, or martyrizing convicted January 6 defendants as 'political prisoners' or even, incredibly, 'hostages.' That is all preposterous." The judge emphasized the potential dangers of such destructive rhetoric, warning that it could pose a threat to the country. Lamberth's remarks were made in connection to a sentencing case involving James Little, a January 6 defendant convicted of misdemeanor offenses. Little, who argued he was a victim of political prosecution, was initially sentenced to 60 days in jail and three years on probation. Despite completing his incarceration, Little appealed, leading to the case being sent back to Lamberth for resentencing. Lamberth, who has presided over several high-profile January 6 cases, including the "QAnon Shaman" Jacob Chansley and former Proud Boys member Christopher Worrell, expressed his concern about the mainstream acceptance of meritless justifications for criminal activity. He wrote, "The Court is accustomed to defendants who refuse to accept that they did anything wrong, but in my thirty-seven years on the bench, I cannot recall a time when such meritless justifications of criminal activity have gone mainstream." Without directly mentioning former President Donald Trump or others using "hostages" rhetoric, Lamberth drew on his extensive judicial experience to set the record straight. He rejected attempts by individuals like Little to misinterpret or misrepresent the events of January 6, asserting that the court cannot condone the notion that those who broke the law on that day did nothing wrong or that convicted individuals are political prisoners or hostages, emphasizing the importance of upholding the rule of law. 28.01.24 Source 3 1

Popular Post sirineou Posted January 28, 2024 Popular Post Posted January 28, 2024 How are they hostages? They had their day in court , and were found guilty. Do those who use the term even know what a hostage is? What are they held hostages for? One might argue, Unsuccessfully I might add, that they are political prisoners, but Hostages. Popular Post Walker88 Posted January 28, 2024 Popular Post Posted January 28, 2024 Those 6 January terrorists are to hostages what trump is to 235 lbs and 'like, really really smart'. They were stupid enough to believe trump's lies, evil enough to act upon them, and for their violent idiocy win a Darwin Award. Civil society is better with them locked up, though the world and species would be better if they all went the way of ashli babbitt. 1 1 1 1 1

Trump and Biden are two prime examples of that. If they're savvy enough to convince 80 million voters to vote for them then they have jumped that shark. Or, maybe some are afraid someone's handlers are keeping him out of the public spotlight and especially off anything that looks like a debate stage or even an interview lately. That might leave some being conned into voting for an imbecile. Best to find out early, huh? 1
Popular Post impulse Posted January 28, 2024 Popular Post Posted January 28, 2024 The gub'ment had something like 40,000 hours of video from the day, a lot of it exculpatory for some of the defendants. They refused to turn it over until recently. That, by itself would be grounds for a dismissal in a functional judiciary system. A lot of them absolutely deserve to be in prison. But every defendant deserves a fair trial. Even the guilty ones. 1 5

If there were exculpatory video evidence, the defendant would know about it, and demand the video during discovery. If the government claimed the video was not available at that time, and then the video was released by Mike Johnson, the defendant would be in great shape. But it will never happen because there is no exculpatory video. 3 1 2

In the silly rant where at one of his rallies where trump confused Nikki Haley for Nancy Pelosi, trump rambled about "destroying all the evidence", which adds to his already record lying total. He also claimed he offered Nikki "10,000 soldiers or National Guard or whatever", but Haley turned them down. Another lie...even if he could remember who the actual Speaker was on 6 January. Somehow trump could order police to go beat protesters and journalists in front of a church so the fatboy could go for his upside down Bible photo shoot, but over three hours---with police being attacked and bear sprayed by the goobers he sent to the Capitol to overthrow US democracy---he had to get Nikki Haley's permission to send an help. All lies, coupled with increasing dementia. 3 3 1 1 1 1

Turns out he is under indictment for violating sanctions re Iran oil, and also wanted for trying to broker arms sales to Iran. Mossad wants him for that, which may explain why he went into hiding. Of course if Mossad already took him out, Repubs will blame Clinton or George Soros or maybe even the late Hugo Chavez, the guy who trump's crack lawyers claimed rose from the grave, wrote code, uplifted it to an Italian satellite, and then altered voting machines. 2 2 1 2 1

bendejo Posted January 28, 2024 Posted January 28, 2024 There are certain media outlets in the US that have not/will not show the 1/6 rioters doing anything untoward, keeping to the "well-behaved tourists" trope. Even when the 1/6 Congressional committee showed clips of it on the huge screen, Fox channel blurred out the House's screen in their coverage; there is no substance to an evasive "ooops, I guess we forgot to air that" excuse. There is a vid of Pelosi referring to "poo-poo" (hey, she's a granny) on that day. Some of you might recall that Fox personality that was given all the House footage of that day (by the former Speaker) to air a sanitized (heh-heh) version, but he got fired (what was his name, Cucker Tarson or something like that?) On the other hand I don't know of any television news source, of any TV medium, that showed images of the excrement smeared on the wall. Even the House member who voluntarily helped in the cleanup effort balked at saying it. I guess the image they are trying to convey is that Americans are not feces-tossing monkeys. Well, some of them are, and they have a very vocal leadership. The "well-behaved tourists" guy did participate. personally, in trying to keep the rioters out of House chamber. https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2021/05/18/andrew-clyde-capitol-insurrection-photographer-tom-williams-newday-sot-vpx.cnn 1

I suppose you think he had a "perfect phone call" with Zelenskyy where trump withheld approved aid and demanded Zelenskyy manufacture dirt on Biden? Well, the 2nd impeachment is why SC Jack Smith carried out a thorough investigation and indicted trump. Rather than being heard in front of partisan and cowardly Senate hacks, a real jury will hear the case. A grand jury already heard it and preferred charges. So if you pay attention, you will hear "that evidence". 2 2 1 1 1
