The polls had Hillary beating orange jeezuz up until the actual vote. Polls are WORSE than worthless.

Actually the 2016 polls were accurate.

Do you disagree?

Easy peasy when adding government workers like army, police, firefighters and others.

As easy as increasing GDP by giving weapons away to countries where you have instigated a war

But you are wrong:

Job growth was widespread in January, led by professional and business services with 74,000. Other significant contributors included health care (70,000) and retail trade (45,000).

Thanks for confirming my stance

From your link

Job growth was widespread on the month, led by professional and business services with 74,000. Other significant contributors included health care (70,000), retail trade (45,000), government (36,000), social assistance (30,000) and manufacturing (23,000).

So that is 142.000 jobs that are not in any way government related

Typical trumper: dead wrong

Professional and business services: +74,000

Healthcare services (i.e. fat trumpers needing diabetes type II treatment): +70,000

Retail Trade (because flush consumers are out shopping): +45,000

And where are the other ~200.00 coming from, for which you are ignorant?

"...hypothetical, Nikki Haley leads Biden 47% to 42%"

I'd contend that at this point there is no objectively projectable, hypothetical Haley v Biden because even if he did nothing, there'd still be a wide orange shadow cast over the 2024 election, and unless he's muzzled in solitary confinement where he belongs, does anyone think Putin's puppet won't get his MAGA Republican puppets to sabotage Nimbra (orange racist naming) aka Nimarata Nikki Randhawa (birth name)? Or do you really think he's so concerned with policy that in a Biden v Haley matchup he'd put his misogyny aside & subdue his ego having had just lost a primary to Haley to sick his MAGA on Joe?

Trump would want Haley to win because she promised to pardon him.

Right, because we've seen how the threat of jail prevents his misbehaving.

Wrong : The president has authority to federalize the states national guards to control civil unrest and crime. It has been done.

Using the National Guard to control looting at CVS would be a very bizarre and extreme act.

I was in a CVS a couple of weeks ago buying laundry detergent and they have the big bottles of Tide locked up with a chain and lock. I think the security guards should be allowed to take whatever action they see fit.

Justin Bieber is Canadian so that ain't gonna work...

Pauly Shore, Bill Burr, Matt Damon, Taylor Fritz, or Celine Dion. They would all be far more qualified than the huge cheater.

She did beat him in the 'actual vote' so the polls were correct.  Trump was saved by the cursed Electoral College.  In two presidential runs, he has never gotten even 50% of the vote.  Lost to Clinton by 2 million actual votes and Biden by 7 million--after Americans had seen Trump's very poor job as President for four years.  Always embarrassing when an incumbent President loses with all the perks he has going for him being President.  With oodles of serious criminal indictments hanging over his head, I can't see him doing any better in 2024, likely worse.  Way too much baggage for most sane voters.

The Electoral college is an abomination that has to be abolished. It may have worked 150 years ago, but there is absolutely no place for it in American society today.

Why did it work 150 years ago and not today... the concept remains the same... The United States was founded as a democratic republic not as a democracy... the founding fathers were right then and they remain right now on the damage that the "mob" can do.

Dec 7 (Reuters) - U.S. employers increased their announced job cuts in November, led by the retail and technology sectors, in a further sign that the labor market is beginning to slacken, a report released on Thursday showed.

Announced job layoffs by U.S.-based employers totaled 45,510 last month, up 24% from 38,836 in October, global outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas said in the report.

While it was the first time since July the announced cuts were lower than the corresponding month a year ago, the year-to-date tally was the highest since 2020, when the economy was swooning amid the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hiring plans also appeared to have weakened. U.S. employers in November announced plans to hire 15,566 workers, for a year-to-date total of 775,501. It is the lowest year-to-date total for announced hiring since 2015.

Likewise, seasonal employers have announced 573,300 hires this year through November, the lowest year-to-date tally since 2013.
