rct99q Posted February 14, 2024 Posted February 14, 2024 Anybody recognize this one. Is about the size of a human hand. Orb Spider? But the color is black/white striped. Looked google could not see anything similar. Wife doesn't know. She has not seen this before. Thanks 1
JackGats Posted February 14, 2024 Posted February 14, 2024 The size of a human hand? Holy sh*t! I am arachnophobic.
rct99q Posted February 14, 2024 Author Posted February 14, 2024 Yup, she's a bigg'n. Daughter nearly sh*t herself when she saw it. Told her this is why we check our beds before going to sleep.
Kinnock Posted February 14, 2024 Posted February 14, 2024 Maybe a female Banded Leg Orb Weaver? Impressive looking beast!
rct99q Posted February 14, 2024 Author Posted February 14, 2024 Thanks. My thoughts as well. Just the coloring is unique from other Orb spiders I have seen here. But the thing is HUGE. Don't really bother me most times, but this one I am keeping my distance.

Gonna see how big its web is going to be. Many years ago we had a Golden Orb and it produced an amazing web. So gonna wait and see. 2
KhunLA Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 Throw an insect into the web and watch it do its thing. Pretty cool
