Speedboat Driver in Krabi Arrested with 10 Meth Pills

Krabi – A speedboat driver was arrested with 10 methamphetamine pills at a beach in Ao Nang, Mueang Krabi.

The Krabi Marine Police told the Phuket Express that on Thursday (February 22nd) they randomly checked boat drivers and crews at Nopparat Thara Beach in the Sai Thai sub-district. The inspection came after they were notified by concerned citizens that boat drivers and crews were allegedly involved with illegal drugs while servicing tourists.

This was of particular concern due to a recent accident in Chalong in which a five-year-old Russian girl died when a speedboat crashed into rocks while the captain was high on methamphetamine.
