DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER-cum-Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul praised Phuket authorities for quickly revoking a Swiss man’s visa for allegedly kicking a doctor as she sat on the stairs leading from his villa to Cape Yamu beach and is considering revoking the visa of another Swiss man who assaulted a Thai woman at a Trang hypermart, TV Channel 7 said today (Mar. 7).

Mr. Urs Fehr, or David, 45, allegedly kicked Dr. Thandao Chandam, attached to Dibuk Hospital, as she sat on the stairs watching the moon on the night of Feb. 29.

On Tuesday Mar. 5 Mr. Dieter Matthias Strausmann, 62, who is residing in southern Trang city on a retirement visa, punched up Ms. Natchanan Khikkam, 58, at the hypermart while both of them were shopping there and she now has to undergo month-long medical treatment to recover from her injuries.

Anutin said he does not want people who behave in this manner to live in Thailand, pointing out that Thais welcome everyone with friendliness but cannot accept it if they are treated with disrespect.

Good & deported is the proper route but due to violence it should be after times served

On the second Swiss the pics of the Thai lady he mauled was terrible & not a scratch on himself.

I would like to see or hear more about that case as it is extreme & odd at the same time

They say no cctv footage available yet say many bystanders saw & testified. That means in today's world there is also a lot

of phone videos. But also makes me wonder how so many could stand by & watch yet not help

Time to celebrate again. 🥳

Liverpool Lou and his negativity on the previous thread, I didn't really enjoy the other nights celebration.

Let's party 🎉

If this guy's Visa has been revoked, I can't believe there is even a question about whether the 2nd guy's should be as his actions were far, far worse.

So far it seems the he (2nd guy) has remained silent about what he did (not much he can offer as a defense really) as he seems to believe if he stays silent he'll just be sent packing, boy is he in for a rude awakening.... Som Nam Naa for those actions.

Id  agree if  it was  reciprocal.

Won't he still have a Permission to Stay as there is a court case pending against him?

Great result. This is a guy who has always been he's been making trouble wherever he goes, and it finally caught up to him. Like you said he probably thought she was just some simple peasant girl, when in reality she's probably a very popular doctor with a very decent father, who likely went her overseas to study, has some influence, and does not appreciate a slob kicking his daughter around. Power to him. And they're coming after him, which is wonderful. It's a fantastic finish to a bizarre story that was caused by a man totally lacking in perspective, totally lacking anything in the way of social skills or dignity, unhinged and mad at the world.

And totally lacking any kind of gratitude for the life that he's been given. This tiny moron is living beachfront! What is wrong with him? What kind of mental disease does this idiot have? Doesn't he get anything? He likely does now.

Well, nothing ever happens in a vacuum. The reaction was intense, but it was at least to some extent prompted by ex-pats who simply do not behave themselves. Most of us treat our hosts, and our host nation with some respect. Granted I do not show much respect to the nation's leaders here on this forum, but that is a different story. They do not deserve respect. Most Thais I know feel the same way. I do show alot of respect and kindness towards most Thais. And that is what counts. They are only asking to be treated with decency and respect. I do not think that is an unreasonable request. And I do not think most Thais are xenophobic. I have felt that before, elsewhere. Believe me, it does not feel like this. I find most Thais to be kind, and hospitable, but they do not have much tolerance for foreigners who behave like total idiots, and there is nothing wrong with that. I don't either. Urs David Fehr was a complete butthead, and proved that over and over again. It is likely even his mother was thankful when he left Switzerland. Now, he may be heading back. I am hoping this publicity follows him around, like white on rice.

There’s no *if* about it ! There is no excuse for violence , one sees so much of it on TV and in the news. One must ask oneself what sort of man does hit / smack/ hurt a woman, especially for such minor reasons.  What else is such a man capable of ?

You advocate putting the victim in jail too... what drugs are you taking that have destroyed your mind to this point?

But Switzerland is such a nice country.

In all my travels around the world, I’ve never had much joy with them. Find them pretty arrogant, but then I could have just been unlucky on every occasion. Thailand does tend to attract the dregs of western society, however (along with decent folk of course) and this a$$ has done us all a disservice. Deport the first, jail the second.

You do not know that for sure. He exhibits rather a short fuse and that could be reflected in his personal life too.

Finger pointing at others in order to justify one's actions is juvenile... that's what johnny does on the schoolyard... and basing the punishment for committing a crime on what other people are doing is so "woke equity thinking" that it is utterly ridiculous...

The Thais that act in such a manner is also very regrettable I agree but it’s their country and their land we’re visiting and perhaps Bums like the “Swiss Kicker” and also another Swiss Brawler who beat up a Thai Lady in the grocery store. Causes other XPats to be so disliked. If I come to your home I should act polite and the same should be expected of us in others.

We are in fact guests like it or not. So please act accordingly.

Yes he was totally in the wrong. But what happens when its the other way round. We often hear of  2 or 3 bouncers beat up,  normally quite bad a foreigner , they may or may not loose their job ? Fine, jail ? Never. Dual pricing dual standards.
