Mo Chit 2 taxi drivers demand fare increase and crackdown on illegal taxis

A demand for an increase in the starting taxi fare at Mo Chit 2 to 50 Thai baht (US$1.40) was presented to the Transport Ministry by the Professional Association of Public Taxi Motorists on Thursday.

Thai woman defends husband for shooting her with harpoon

A Thai woman in the Isaan province of Buriram defended her husband, who shot her with a harpoon, to prevent him from being arrested, saying the shooting was an accident. Her husband said otherwise.

Anutin touches down in Phuket for brief inspection

Thailand’s Interior Minister flew into Phuket yesterday to monitor the current state of affairs following a number of high-profile incidents, most notably the 45 year old Swiss man allegedly kicking a female Thai doctor in the back as she sat on the steps in front of his house in Cape Yamu.
