A friend sent me a video clip from youtube and I clicked it for a laugh and it worked , I'm just hoping that its back on forever and it's not on just because Somchai and the censor station has fallen asleep .

It's not. There's been no official statement that youtube has been unblocked, so your latter assumption appears to be correct. It's going to be a long time before it gets unblocked.

It seems I jumped the gun a bit .

I've just tried to open youtube on another window and it says page cannot be displayed but the original one I clicked on is working fine and I can access my old account no problem and all my videos are still there.

Hopefully Somchai will sleep a lot longer , or maybe I just wont turn my computer off .

Quite amazingly, i started up a very similar thread earlier today on the 'unblocking' of YouTube.

Howvever, since, i was familiar with your regularities here i didnt write too much.

My thread was 'locked' anyway...... and informed that the subject was being discussed "elsewhere"

There are numerous Thai language forums talking about the unblocking YouTube, as of tonight.

YouTube has been working perfectably all day long on a variety of ISPs

Working in Rangsit with TOT. Nothing new, it works for a day or so, then nothing for a few days. Spotty.

And by the way... Youtube indeed works again for me.

I think the main block the junta placed at Thailand's main gateway was lifted (or otherwise stopped working), however in their usual eager-beaver way, individual ISPs may also block it. So time to call your ISP and tell them they suck.

There are pages and pages of arguments and derogatory comments from two sides of the monarchy divide slagging each other off. From what I ascertain to be Thais of Chinese ancestry because of the subject matter and historical barbs traded. It might be a red herring or a cover / reference to Thaksin.... Who knows.
