We all exchange pitying glances at our friend, who's gone gooey-eyed over this girl toy. But hey, it's his life, his choices. After that evening, he's been avoiding us like the plague.

Then last night, like a bad penny, he calls me up late at night, blabbering on. Turns out, he and Ms. Drama-Queen broke up not long after that disastrous dinner. And why, you ask? Because his buddy from England came to visit, and the girl decided to have a holiday fling, if you catch my drift. Apparently, she found someone who didn't mind flashing the cash.

 

So, there he is, drowning his sorrows in the same disco joint where he found her, only this time she's hanging off some other dude with a wallet thicker than a dictionary. And what does my friend do? He calls me up to rant about Thai girls being the spawn of Satan – scheming, money-grabbing creatures who are all cut from the same cloth he drones.

Now, don't get me wrong, I know he's just pizzed and blowing off steam, but hearing my mate trash-talk Thai women at 1 am is not my idea of a good time. I mean, I've never dabbled in the BG (bargirl) scene, thank heavens, but hearing him go on about it made my blood boil to be honest.

 

For crying out loud! And let me tell you, I'd sooner cuddle up to a pack of stray dogs than deal with that nonsense. BGs might have their sob stories, but frankly, I've got more sympathy for a wilted houseplant. They give decent Thai women a bad rap, and frankly, I'm fed up with it.

 

So, here's to hoping my mate sobers up and stops painting all Thai women with the same brush. 

 

Have you ever taken a bar girl out for awhile, did you carry on going back to the same bar afterwards, what was it like for you seeing the one you had a short time before with another farang ?

There's a certain proportion of Asian females (of all classes and socioeconomic backgrounds) that like to play the game and a certain proportion of western men that don't know the game and come looking for true love. Even experienced guys occasionally fall into the trap.

 

Tell your buddy to grow up and get over it, love all of them and trust none of them. And to make sure they shower before hitting the sack and afterwards for the next guy.

 

Ain't it a turn off when your current honey comes over from a friend's wedding or a night out with the girls with another man dripping out of her?

During the first decades of my time visiting LOS I'd stop off in Pattaya to find a compatible BG and head to the beach ( girls at the beach were way more expensive and did no more than Pattaya girls ). They came in useful when I was looking for a place to stay as they would sit with the bags in a restaurant while I looked around. Sometimes that could take an hour or two.

Otherwise they were just for night time, as they rarely wanted to do any walking and I'd ramble for hours.

However, on the 3 occasions I got sick with dengue and was laid up for a few days they would look after me.

 

After it was all over, they'd wave me off at the airport and that was usually the last time I saw them- most had moved on by the time I returned for the next beach adventure in paradise.

 

Happy days back then.

Very few bar girls waiting for you and stay faithful, because the chance you will come back to them is very small, but some do. 

 

Thats why I never tried to keep a long distance relationship with a thai, or any girl anywhere for that sake. 

 

The one I ended up marrying, proved herself and after 6 months I met here I moved here and we became a couple.

I'm somewhat sceptical of that.

 

I had one that I didn't know had already had a short time, and she wanted me to have a Mrs Palmer rather than the real thing. Seems she hurt too much for a second round. If that is the result of just one guy, 18 would be pushing it for number 19, IMO. Of course, if she was a party girl, she may not have had a problem.

 

In Playkool ( Nana ) in the mid 90s there was one extremely attractive dancer that seemed to be going out ST quite frequently every night, but she is the only one I know of that partied a lot.

Everyone have different experiences, but I met girls who had good language, sporty (diving, climbing, kayaking, hiking, swimming even  bungy jumps) and easy going, and also didnt drink or very little alchohol consume, and I believed was aiming for holiday boyfrieds rather than short times. It was girls who had experience with long term relaionships with foreigners. 

 

Sounds impossible to find, I know, but I had a few experiences like that and neever been a bar monger, but once and awhile I had time to kill, and got to know a few decent ones. 

 

Never asked for money, but I did pay their bills for electric, rent, clothes, and daily expenses, and after end of holiday, did put a decent amount in their purse without they see it. 

 

I have only positive experiences

If you take a bar girl out, if you take a girl out of a Go go bar you simply approach her as a plaything and someone to have some fun with. The mistakes guys make is to try to make it something bigger than it is, something more significant than it is. A lot of guys come here and they're just vulnerable emotionally and they get with a girl who expresses some affection to them and they confuse that affection with the fact that the girl really likes him or the girl loves him. Then they get all bent out of shape when she starts acting like a bar girl or a go-go girl.

 

It's just a completely twisted situation, and the guy is 100% to blame for allowing himself to get caught up in her world.

 

It's not paying tribute to the gender. It is pure weakness and delusion.

Somewhat agree, but IMO the girls use the fact that most western men have never had decent sex in their lives to fool them that they are offering more than they are.

It's too easy for a western man that has never known decent sex to think that the girl is doing so because she "likes" him, when she doesn't.

I've been there done that myself, but I was lucky in that I didn't meet many bad ones.

Anyway, most decent well behaved freelancers have sponsors, and can play around because they are already covered.
