Daughter Collapses in Grief as Parents Are Hit by Car in Tragic Hit-and-Run
Picture from responders. A devastating hit-and-run incident in Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani, struck a Myanmar couple. The wife was killed instantly, while her husband sustained severe injuries. The driver responsible fled the scene, prompting authorities to launch an urgent search. The crash occurred around 23:30 on 27 March, near the entrance of Pinehurst Golf Course in Khlong Nueng subdistrict. Pol. Lt. Warut Phumipak, an investigator from Khlong Luang Police Station, received the report and rushed to the scene with traffic police, rescue workers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, and emergency responders. At the site, they discovered the lifeless body of a woman, later identified as Ms. Pata, 52, a Myanmar national. Her body lay by the roadside near a severely damaged bicycle, which had been split in two by the impact. A Toyota emblem was found at the scene, possibly belonging to the vehicle involved. Nearby, emergency responders had already transported the injured victim, Mr. Prek Saim, 46, also a Myanmar national, to Thammasat University Hospital for urgent treatment. Witnesses stated that the victims were a married couple who worked at Pinehurst Golf Course. They commuted home by bicycle every night. The incident became even more heartbreaking when their daughter arrived at the scene. Upon seeing her mother’s lifeless body, she collapsed in grief, sobbing uncontrollably. Relatives had to carry her to a vehicle and take her home. Pol. Lt. Warut and his team documented the scene and began examining CCTV footage to identify the vehicle involved in the collision. Authorities are actively working to track down the driver and bring them to justice. The body of Ms. Pata has been sent to Thammasat University Hospital’s forensic unit for further examination. The investigation remains ongoing. -- 2025-03-29 -
