AND....if you might doubt me....then...just ask a GLOBAL MOD here at TV....

It was you who suggested asking a MOD here. On TV????

I think that you are a very confused member of Asean Now.

This was not a serious suggestion, obviouly.

But, use your own judgement.

It's just that some people on this Forum doubt the veracity of my comments.

I am not here to prove every single little statement made by me.

Believe or not believe, and this is ups to you.

I have switched all my computers to openSUSE, and I am loving it.

  • A 250GB SSD is perfect as a Windows system drive (C:).  All your photos, videos, music and other data on a bigger 1TB (D:) data drive.

One would assume you were still running Win 7 then. So much complaint. It´s simple! Windows is the global standard for work, both online and in office. There is a reason for that. It is compatible wit

I have 15 TBytes on Google Drive. I have 1 TByte of space on SSDs and HDDs. Still not even enough to save my posts on TV, as you say.

FWIW; Those 'old' SAMSUNG PRO SSD's are likely SLC 1-level NAND  or 2-level NAND.

They will have a very long 'write' and 'data retention' life compared to newer <deleted>e.

Very worthy of items as mentioned. Not in any NAS application.

I do suggest running the Sammy mgmnt desktop app

to check firmware ver (upgrade if needed), and see it's usage prior to further usage.

I also have several.

My 1 baht view.

So how old are you?

I am 77 and completely understand the Cloud, back-ups to SSDs, and Windows 11.

'The cloud' is just a buzzword for "someone else's computer".

As others have said, useful to do an image backup of your system for disaster recovery.

Or as a destination for Windows' paging and temporary files as a speedier alternative to HDDs.

On two lf them I would suggest you install Ventoy and a few of your favourite recovery ISOs/OS Live images so that you will always be able to at least boot your system no matter how hard the installed OS fails.

Can it handle installing from a Windows 11 .iso with the "security requirements" bypass like Rufus does?

I like the idea of having multiple OS's on one drive though.

No it doesn't have any features for manipulating images. Maybe if you created a Windows 11 install with rufus, then created an iso image from the media you created with rufus then that might work. I haven't tried it, though.

Also, my suggestion was multiple OS on two drives. Don't end up like me and find out that your recovery media is f*ed along with your computer 😭

Does W11 still have a paging file? Temporary files can, and should all be deleted with say Glary or similar.

SSDs are a speedier alternative to HDDs !

Always do a System Restore backup onto a USB stick, a Recovery Media on another, a C drive backup onto another separate drive, which is then backed-up to the Cloud. Sorted.
