Seems that the helicopter was not as old as first reported, but was still a 30 year old Bell 212 helicopter, manufactured 1994. registration 6-9207, manufacturer serial number 35071.
 

The helicopter is only certified for VFR (visual only) flight, and can accommodate 6 passengers, and should never be flown through thick fog, as it does not have the avionics capability for low-visibilty instrument flight.

 

All spare parts are under sanctions and maintenance cycles have been by the manufacturer.

If the pilot and/or flight planners put their passengers on an aging and unreliable helicopter without suitable avionics and flew it in adverse conditions then the flight’s planner, pilots and the entire presidential staff were basically asking for this to happen. Really just gross negligence or arrogance.

I think you are seeing that wrong,i think many people there remembered in silence the amount of people he killed.

Yes one minute of silence,that is how politics work.

It is also out of respect for the other members of the UN gathering.

It is done to keep a door open and a work able atmosphere.

You don't have to agree but that is the way it is done.

Many countries have expressed condolences to all of the victims in this crash,also the pilot and the family.

I also know that if this would have happened to a Western leader there would have been parties in the streets of some nations but it is what it is.

There, he earned the fearsome nickname, the Butcher of Tehran. Raisi was one of four judges who sat on a prosecution committee in the 1980s that is believed to have ordered the executions of thousands of political prisoners.

 

The prisoners — some reportedly as young as 13 years old — were alleged to be part of the armed opposition group the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organisation, which attempted to topple the Iranian government in 1986.

 

Two years later, Iranian authorities issued a "fatwa" against members of the group, saying "they are waging war on God and are condemned to execution".

 

No-one knows how many people died during the five grim months that followed, but estimates range from 2,500 executions to up to 30,000 deaths. Witnesses say prisoners were detained in secret, and those who refused to change their political affiliation were tortured and hanged from cranes before being buried in mass graves.
