Popular Post new2here Posted May 30 Popular Post Posted May 30 To me the key here would be to hold the “guards” employee also liable … financially so.. You charge the guard with a criminal act subject to arrest and imprisonment.. natural persons can be imprisoned … at the same time, you charge the employer with a civil offense subject to steep fines and/or seizure of any assets used in the commission of said employees crime .. as you cant really imprison a corporate entity, you go after what they do have - assets … that to me, is how best to tackle it.. go after each parties exposure. I’ve long said, once you start taking away people’s “stuff” from the wealthy, they take notice - because that’s the weak spot.. for those who don’t have large assets, you take the freedom, incarcerate them. 1 1 1
JCauto Posted May 30 Posted May 30 6 hours ago, webfact said: Pattaya, Thailand – In a viral incident that has made international headlines and drove significant speculation and discussion online, a group of independent contracted guards brutally assaulted British tourists after a furious dispute over a bill on the bustling Soi 6 Pattaya over the past weekend. The attack raised serious concerns about safety and tarnished the family friendly image of the popular tourist destination, according to Pattaya Police. There we go! Looks like they listened to my comment and put the "family friendly" back in Pattaya! That sentence being the only location it will ever be found... 1

You said it yourself - 'without knowing if they deserved a beating' - but that didn't hinder you determining that the beating was well deserved. From 'the more Thai than the Thais' camp. 2 3

steevjee Posted May 30 Posted May 30 But will we ever find out the result, fines, imprisonment etc? It's a common fault with all media here that these things are rarely reported, so come on ASEAN Now, follow up and keep us informed please 1

Senior Player Posted May 30 Posted May 30 By all accounts, it looks like the 3 tattooed thugs went out looking for trouble and found it. Was the response from the security guards disproportionate? Yes, but hopefully the 3 tattooed thugs will think twice next time before starting any trouble. 1 1 1

I agree, too many times I see these thugs in Pattaya. They need to be taught a lesson. It saddens me to see these thugs out and about, bullyboys The Thais are so friendly and welcoming, you wrong them, GAME On. Good on the security, just need to remove that soccer guy, kicking heads not needed. 2 1

They are there solely for the pimp to be paid and perhaps to ensue the girls have a certain level of performance. You seem very naive on how the game works. Are you a pimp? You seem to know how the game is played. Got to love that bill padding and filthy lying bar staff. Another apologieest. 1 3

Do I detect an element of sarcasm in you response? Doesn't matter. Like it or not, Pattaya, or Thailand for that matter, attracts an unsavory crowd that likes to cause trouble when out drinking or frequenting these kinds of establishments. I've seen it with my own eyes many times before. And it's not specifically Brits that are doing it either. It just happens to be our turn for the spotlight this particular moment in time. Does that mean I side with the security guards? Absolutely not, as I made it abundantly clear that I thought their response was disproportionate. If it makes you feel any better, I will add that I think the "soccer guy" who kicked the Brit on the floor in the head, should be prosecuted and face more than a small fine and a simple wai. 1 1 2

There was no bill padding, no 10 thai on 1 farang, nobody put in a coma as was claimed by the farang apologists. Just a simple case of a tourist running out on his bill for sexual services after he probably prematurely ejaculated. And a wannabe tough guy covered in tattoos starting a fight who turned out to be a dismal incompetent fighter who was whipped by someone half his size and only saved from a more serious beating by girls. Embarrassed to be from the same country? Yes. But I never apologize 1 1 2 3
