Therefore the premise of "I thought this is not looking good (when I read the here linked article)" sounds innocuous enough. Nothing wrong with that, however what 's interesting how you often, meaning not always, project a positive as in "this is looking rather good" (TO YOU,)  into a  "concerned" negative "I thought this is not looking good" (TO OTHERS, especially those on the other side) - or vice versa - seemingly in order to ingratiate yourself with your opponent? In other words, one can't help noticing the mournful tone of the bearer of bad news...
