What did happen to all those farang english teachers back in the early 2000's?

They used to be a lot in that Ajarn forum complaining about everything

They're here, many of them!

I don’t think that I need any favours from Trans. Well maybe a little advice now and again computer wise now that crossy is not my friend … he blamed another friend of mine for the level 7 attack or whatever it was that shut AN down for a week some while back… it wasn’t him but never mind… so he said he doesn’t want to be my friend anymore …..

So it seems that some of you Pattaya guys are monied … how fortunate you are. MrsJ and myself have to get by on my pension and a little bit of investment in the UK.

We do try to play golf three times a week and get away every 2-3 weeks….never to Pattaya though…Our house is not as big as the one Trans has, but it’s okay and we also have to get by with just an old SUV, E-Class and S-Class, so not rich like many of you guys seem to be……

I don’t normally comment on this type of post,or even read them. But when I saw how childish, silly and even nasty some of your comments are I made an exception.

And I have to say, and choose my words carefully, since Darren bought AN do we really need to let topics that have degenerated as this one has continue……

Enjoy you day guys …………

There are jobs in Thailand... If you've skills.

I was based in Shenzhen (PRC) working for a huge MNC in the Hi-Tech sector and decided to be based in Thailand.

I managed to find a great opportunity in Bangkok through LinkedIn. My employer pays what I'd get in western Europe.

Yep.  Never understood the concept of abandoning a job or career in the West to come to Thailand to teach English for 35k baht a month.

Never understood the denial that it's all about the pussy either.

Naah, anything top less must have a V8.

Anyway, Thailand's roads are too hot and have too much traffic, polluted with fumes from exhaust for convertible driving.

The S-class is much better car to drive in Thailand.

So you think that foreign English teachers are taking jobs away from all the Thai people who wish to teach English?

What?

I am saying that the "taking jobs from Thais" is a myth. There is a prohibited list and that is all.

The car or the Mrs?  (joking)

Nice car.  Retractable hard top?

Considered the two seater Mercedes SL or the Porsche Boxster but reliable MX-5 with economical maintenance won.  Not a fan of $500.00 oil changes.

Still a thought but increasing presence in Thailand was another deterrent.

New car price in Thailand?  I thought imports were a lot more.

My simple MX-5 Miata is approximately two and a half times more expensive in Thailand than America.

I knew you would be impressed.

That’s the benefit of a flat as a single (by choice) bachelor.

Turn off the water, unplug the refrigerator and off I go .  Security takes care of the red.

Easy day.

While there are advantages to a house, the problem is leaving for an extended period of time as a bachelor with out any one to look after it.

Chances of a break in are extremely high in a vacant house or in America the latest craze is Squatters.

I have a flat, so I don’t worry.  House is a different story.

Break ins are common in vacant houses in Thailand.

Rooms in Perth, not so much.  🙂
