Woman Climbs Pole in Saraburi Provincial Hall in Protest Against Workplace Harassment

Officers from Saraburi City Police Station, led by Police Colonel Suriyah Sudkangwan, rushed to the scene alongside members of the Sawang Saraburi Rescue Unit. Rescue workers cautiously engaged with the woman, identified as Miss Netnapa, a procurement officer, who was visibly distressed. She stated that she had endured prolonged bullying and professional suppression at the hands of senior officials from a local municipal office. During negotiations, she demanded media coverage, insisting that only if journalists reported her grievances would she agree to come down. After reassurances from officials that her story would be told, she descended safely and was taken to a conference room within the provincial hall. In the meeting, chaired by Mr Yutthana Phothiwihok, Saraburi’s Permanent Secretary, Miss Netnapa explained that she had faced ongoing intimidation and professional marginalisation. She alleged that she had been excluded from key responsibilities, pressured to approve questionable projects, and threatened when she refused to comply. She cited an example of a poorly constructed public toilet in Moo 6, where the contractor delivered only a roof frame and partial walls, without essential facilities. When she raised concerns during a municipal council meeting, she was told: “The contractor delivered what they were paid for.” Another case involved a wireless speaker installation project with a 90-day completion deadline, which she suspected was designed to benefit specific contractors. When she refused to approve the project via the municipal office’s online chat group, she faced severe reprimands and increasing pressure. Miss Netnapa revealed that she had filed complaints with several agencies, including the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), the State Audit Office, and the Damrongtham Centre. However, her concerns were ignored, and no investigations were pursued. She also served as a key witness in an ongoing case against the mayor, who had been accused of soliciting bribes from contractors. Despite the case being under review by the public prosecutor, the mayor remained in office, allegedly exerting further pressure on those involved in the case. According to Mrs Nongyao, a municipal council member, tensions within the municipality had persisted for over two years, particularly between procurement officers and senior executives. She claimed that Miss Netnapa had been systematically targeted due to her role as a witness in the corruption case. “She has been struggling for two years since her conflict with the deputy permanent secretary began. She felt trapped, powerless, and saw no way out. That’s why she resorted to this extreme measure to make her voice heard,” Mrs Nongyao said. During the meeting, Mr Yutthana Phothiwihok assured that the province would launch a full investigation. He promised a thorough review of Miss Netnapa’s allegations. Man Shot Dead on Way to Rubber Plantation in Nakhon Si Thammarat

Police believe the murder may have been linked to a personal dispute, as the victim was known for his outspoken nature. The fatal shooting occurred at the entrance to a rubber plantation in Ban Ao Sri Muang, Village 5, Tambon Na Mo Bun, Chulabhorn District. Police Lieutenant Hassan Wongmatthong, an investigator from Chulabhorn Police Station, received the report and immediately informed his superiors. Police Colonel Thanaphon Yaowaphak, the district police chief, along with forensic officers and rescue workers from the Tai Tek Tung Foundation, were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, authorities found the lifeless body of Mr. Wiroj, 52, sprawled across his red-and-black Honda Wave motorcycle (registration from Nakhon Si Thammarat). He had suffered a close-range shotgun blast to the chest, leaving him with severe wounds and a pool of blood beneath him. Forensic specialists were called in to examine the crime scene, searching for clues and physical evidence that could lead to the shooter’s identity. According to preliminary investigations, Mr. Wiroj had been on his usual morning ride to tap rubber when an unidentified assailant ambushed him. The killer fired at point-blank range, causing both the victim and his motorcycle to collapse on the roadside, before fleeing the scene. While the exact motive remains unclear, initial reports suggest that Mr. Wiroj was known for being blunt and outspoken, which may have caused friction with people in his village. Police are currently investigating whether a personal dispute led to the targeted attack. Authorities have conducted a post-mortem examination and are working with forensic teams to gather crucial evidence. Pickup Truck Crashes into Tanker in Kamphaeng Phet, Driver Seriously Injured
Picture from responders. A 55-year-old pickup truck driver was left in critical condition after his vehicle crashed into an 18-wheeler oil tanker in Khlong Khlung district, Kamphaeng Phet. Emergency teams worked against the clock to free him from the wreckage before rushing him to hospital. The accident occurred at 19:00 on 14 March in Tambon Tha Makuea, prompting an immediate response from police, medics, and rescue teams. Police Lieutenant Yutthana Puksuk of Khlong Khlung Police Station led the investigation at the scene, accompanied by rescue workers from Sawang Kamphaeng Phet Foundation. At the crash site, officers found a severely damaged Isuzu pickup truck with Bangkok registration. The driver, later identified as Mr. Boonlert, 55, from Tambon Mae Lat, Khlong Khlung, was trapped inside the wreckage. His vehicle had smashed into the rear wheels of an 18-wheeler fuel tanker, leaving him pinned in the mangled remains. Rescue workers had to cut through the twisted metal to free him while medical staff from Khlong Khlung Hospital provided intravenous fluids on-site. After 30 minutes of intense efforts, they managed to extricate the critically injured driver and rushed him to hospital for emergency treatment. Mr. Nakharin, 27, the driver of the fuel tanker, recounted that he had been driving normally when he saw the pickup truck swerving erratically towards him. To avoid a head-on collision, he veered to the side, but the pickup truck still slammed into the rear right trailer wheels with great force. Authorities have now towed the wrecked pickup truck to the police station for inspection and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to determine the precise cause of the crash. Jealous Programmer Shoots Ex-Girlfriend Dead After Rejection

The incident took place at approximately 22:00 on 14 March in Soi Pracharat Sai 1, Soi 10. Police from Tao Poon Police Station, forensic experts, and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following reports of a fatal shooting. At the location, authorities found a white Honda sedan parked inside the premises of a single-storey house. Inside the driver’s seat was the lifeless body of Ms. Laddawan, aged 41, with six gunshot wounds, two to the head, one to the left ear, and others to the neck and chest. The right-side car door had a bullet hole, and spent shell casings were scattered on the ground. A 40-year-old friend of the victim provided insight into the suspect’s motive. The perpetrator, identified as Mr. Kiatthikorn, a freelance game programmer, had struggled with a severe gambling addiction. Over the course of their relationship, he had pawned large amounts of the victim’s gold jewellery, amounting to hundreds of thousands of baht. Unable to tolerate his behaviour any longer, Ms. Laddawan ended their relationship six months ago. Despite the breakup, Mr. Tee continued to linger around her food stall, helping out occasionally, even as she had begun dating someone new. On the night of the murder, Mr. Tee attempted to persuade Ms. Laddawan to return to his condominium in Bang Kruai. A heated argument broke out, and as she entered her car, he suddenly drew a firearm and shot her multiple times before fleeing on a black Honda MSX motorcycle. Friends and family of the victim had warned her repeatedly about the dangers of interacting with Mr. Tee, describing him as a quiet but potentially dangerous individual. She had even discovered a firearm in his possession during a past visit to his residence, prompting her relatives to urge her to avoid him. Authorities quickly gathered evidence and obtained a warrant for Mr. Tee’s arrest. Later, police received a call from the suspect, who expressed his intention to surrender at Ban Pong Police Station in Ratchaburi Province. Investigators took him into custody and bought him back to Tao Poon Police Station for further questioning. -- 2025-03-16
