As others have said, it is a convenient excuse for Team Trump if he does badly- the debate was RIGGED!  Also, if Trump manages to control himself, it makes Team Biden look petulant and scared. Finally, Trump not being able to free-lance will focus attention on Biden and there is a large chance that he will start to fade, lose his train of thought, etc.
