A tragic incident took place in Nonthaburi where a 19-year-old boy died suddenly in a food center's washroom. The teenager was found untimely lying in a pool of his blood at the Bang Bua Thong food center. The police and medical teams speculated a potential drug overdose, heightened by excessive gaming and insufficient rest.

The local police from Bang Bua Thong, medical staff from Bang Yai Hospital, and the Poh Teck Tung Foundation members quickly responded to a distress call about the unconscious teenager. When they reached the boy in the food center's washroom on Liap Khlong Thanon Road, he was unconscious with a weak pulse. Despite their best efforts with CPR for over a half-hour, they could not save him. A passerby also captured a video of the teenager coughing out blood and struggling to breathe before the rescue team reached the scene.

An eyewitness had initially assumed a dispute due to the loud noises coming from the washroom while she was cleaning her car nearby. However, the constant noise piqued her curiosity, and she asked two men walking by to check what was happening. They found the boy lying lifelessly in an empty washroom.

The boy's father, a 62-year-old man Sirisak Boonpiam, explained that his son lived with him after financial challenges caused his mother to leave them. Even though his son had ongoing problems at school, both academically and socially, he was determined to secure his education. While he was enrolled in a technical school close to home, his lack of regular attendance and inability to stay put led to his eventual withdrawal.

His father reiterated his son's initiation into gaming and potential drug use after he stopped attending school. He would stay out late with friends and had severe coughing problems due to his smoking habits. While the father suspected a drug problem, he never found any evidence of it.

The teenager's father believes his son's death could be linked to his lung complications and lack of rest, though the exact cause remains unknown. The police took the body to a forensic institute for a postmortem to ascertain the exact cause of death.

Thank God they were there to offer probably the most vital assistance in this young man's hour of need.  I dread to think what this poor boy's final minutes would have been like had a random passer-by not been there to film it!

Giving CPR to someone with a pulse?

Is that recommended?
