Pattaya police arrested two Vietnamese nationals for blatantly attacking their business partner in Pattaya. The incident occurred in front of a restaurant in South Pattaya.

The victim, Mr. Xuan Hai Ngo, 38, also a Vietnamese national, sustained moderate injuries to his eye in the attack. On the day of the incident, the suspects, identified by police as Mr. Tran Chinh Tin, 30, and Mr. Nguyen Anh Kiet, 32, arranged to meet the victim to settle an undisclosed debt at a restaurant.

Mr. Xuan and his friend arrived early and were waiting at the restaurant when Mr. Tran and Mr. Nguyen arrived and briefly discussed the debt, before they suddenly became aggressive and began attacking the victim.

The victim was pushed onto the roadside and was kicked by the suspects. Fortunately, a local journalist passed by the scene and threatened to call the police, prompting the suspects to flee. The incident also happened in front of many bystanders and shocked local residents.

On June 26th, Pattaya police managed to have both Mr. Tran and Mr. Nguyen surrender themselves at the Pattaya Police Station. Initially, they confessed to attacking Mr. Xuan.

According to Mr. Tran, he had been in a business partnership with Mr. Xuan in Vietnam, selling car accessories and operating a car pawn shop.

Sounds like it really was not a business disagreement and more like a mafia deal gone bad.

Any relation to Rin Tin Tin?

The suspects, identified by police as Mr. Tran Chinh Tin, 30, and Mr. Nguyen Anh Kiet, 32 need to spend some time in a penal colony, at a Siberian salt mine, or in prison, where they will find a warm reception from the other inmates. They are cowardly creeps.

I'd like to know why the police intervened & arrested the two scumbags when no complaint had been made?

If you'd read the linked story on The Pattaya News it would appear the victim did in fact file a complaint.

"Mr. Xuan did not respond to these accusations through the press and was proceeding with legal action with relevant law enforcement agencies against the suspects."

The much sought-after 'Quality Tourist' must be rarer than a white tiger in Thailand these days. <rollseyes>

Looks like underworld enforcement. Such lovely tourists Thailand is bringing in. Meanwhile NON IMM extensions are going to be revamped.

It actually could have been any nationality. It's a mean world. And daytime or not, so what. I've seen 3 assaults in Pattaya over the years. Thai man (pimp?) against Thai woman, Thai on Thai and Thai on farang. All in the light of day. Shocking.

I met a few Vietnamese in the USA and they seem to be all involved in some type of scam including: drug traffic, prostitution, money laundering, etc. I had a German friend a few  years ago that hired this Vietnamese girl to work for her. Every Friday she would do her accounting and pay her employees. This Vietnamese girl that she hired and eventually fired for being unreliable, was waiting for her hiding and when my friend opened the door of her office, the Vietnamese girl and her African buck jumped on her and beaten her up, stolen all her money. My friend ended up in the hospital with a few broken bones.

Yes, the victim too, and let them finish the fight in their own country!

" Fortunately, a local journalist passed by the scene and threatened to call the police..."

A journalist has to come by and inform the police. Viewers and bypassers are unable to do this?
