Is Koh Samui good in August?

planning to go to Koh Samui in August and just wanna know if the weather will be good to go or not, also is it very crowded during August?

August used to be a mini high season, and used to be very busy, with European tourists. Now, I don't know, since far fewer Westerners are coming to Thailand, for a dozen reasons.

 

Everything has shifted, it would appear. The weather is generally good. Some rains, but less than in Oct-Dec.

Living on Koh Samui myself, the answer to your two questions are:

You mean you have an idea - not a plan, as you don't even know yet whether you want to go or not!

Better IMO. Went last year late August; fewer tourists and cooler weather. Had some great overcast days which meant we could be on the beach more.
